How Support Shaped My Career at Gallagher Bassett

I started my career at Gallagher Bassett the same way many new Resolution Managers do, with curiosity, a little uncertainty, and a desire to help people. Slowly I made my way up to becoming a supervisor for a dedicated team and from there I went on to become an Assitant Branch Manager.

What surprises me most when I look back is not just the progression, it’s the encouragement that made each step possible. I often say. That support is what built my confidence, and eventually my career.

The Power of Feeling Supported

People often ask me what keeps someone at the same company for 24 years. For me, the answer has always been simple: the people behind me.

The support that I get from the entire management team. If you get stuck with something, they want to help guide you. They’re caring, they’re understanding, and they give constructive criticism to help you continue to grow.

It’s one thing for a company to offer opportunities; it’s another to have leaders and peers who make you feel like you’re never alone in navigating them. That’s what has kept me here, year after year.

Leading With Heart

Now, as a leader myself, I carry forward what was given to me. One of the greatest joys of my job is helping others discover their own potential.

I want people to be successful. I love showing them the ins and outs of our system, being there to round table situation, helping them come to the final conclusion of their claims.”

Every new team member, whether seasoned or fresh out of college, deserves someone to look at them and believe: You can do this. I try to be that person, because someone once was that person for me.

What excites me most today is watching our new talent come in. Through the INVEST, we’re building the next generation of leaders. Nobody is left alone, we’re here to help, guide, and hopefully grow these individuals the best that we can.

If someone comes in willing to learn and willing to ask questions, there is no limit to where they can go.

Innovation That Truly Helps: Why GB Navigator Excites Me

In my years here, I’ve seen tools come and go, but nothing like the GB Navigator. It feels like the first time technology was truly built with Resolution Managers’ real needs in mind.

It’s a new exciting dashboard. It helps anyone, even new emerging talen, see where their desk is at all in one screen. It tells them what’s high priority, what’s time sensitive.

And honestly? It’s a saving grace. I genuinely wish I’d had it when I was adjusting. It’s helping our team prioritize, stay ahead of deadlines, and ultimately serve our clients better.

In moments that matter, you matter

Gallagher Bassett is more than where I work. It's where I grew up professionally, I learned to lead and where you can aim higher than you ever imagined.

And after all these years, one feeling remains at the heart of my story: I matter here. And that has made all the difference.
