My brother-in-law's example instills in me a deeper sense of purpose and accountability. Whether sourcing top talent or collaborating with colleagues, I strive to uphold the same integrity and dedication that Bob exemplified in both his military and civic roles. His story reinforces the importance of teamwork, resilience, and service—principles that guide me every day.

Every November, we pause to reflect. Across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia, November 11 is recognized as Veterans Day and Remembrance Day. Moments dedicated to honoring those who served with courage, sacrifice, and resilience. At Gallagher, remembrance is more than a tradition: it reflects our values. As a global organization, we stand together to recognize the individuals and families who have given so much in service, and to support their continued journeys beyond military life.
Honoring Service Across Borders
Though each country observes this day in its own way, the message is universal: to remember with gratitude.
In the US, Veterans Day pays tribute to all who served in the armed forces.
In the UK, Canada and Australia, Remembrance Day marks the end of World War I and honors those lost in conflict in a national moment of silence to reflect on courage and sacrifice.
For Gallagher, these moments serve as a reminder that our global team is united not only by our work, but also by the values we share: empathy, integrity, and community.
From Service to Civilian Careers
Transitioning from the military into corporate life can be both exciting and challenging. At Gallagher, we are committed to supporting veterans in finding meaningful opportunities that match their unique skills and experience. Through our Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) search feature on the Gallagher Careers Site, veterans can simply enter their MOS code to discover roles aligned with their expertise. This ensures a smoother transition into civilian careers while continuing to grow and make an impact. Because at Gallagher, we believe your service has already proven your leadership, adaptability, and resilience, the very qualities that drive our success together.
One value that I learned in the military which I use everyday is transparency, this value along with telling the absolute truth has served me well by earning trust with my stakeholders as well as with our candidates.
One skill that I acquired in the Army is my use of Psychological profiling which is very handy when interviewing candidates to determine motivation, fit, truthfulness, and personality, this skill has allowed me to provide critical information to our Hiring Managers in order for them to make solid hiring decisions.
When an employer takes time to recognize all Veterans who answered the call to serve their Country, it means a lot to me. As Veteran, it is impossible to forget who we are and what it took to get here, many including those with us at Gallagher, took the time to help me transition to civilian life after 30 years of Active Duty service, for that I am eternally grateful, and ensure that the next generation of veterans receive that same assistant that I was shown.

My wife, Gina is a veteran and continues to protect our country in her work, her dedication to the mission inspires me every day. Seeing her work ethic and commitment reminds me what real service looks like — putting something bigger than yourself first.
Because of her example, I make it a point to show up fully, keep my word, and focus on the team’s success over individual recognition. She’s a daily reminder that service can take many forms, whether it’s protecting a nation or supporting the people you work alongside.

My brother-in-law, Bob Larsen, is a retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel whose service has deeply influenced the way I view integrity, commitment, and community—values that are also foundational at Gallagher.
Having someone like Bob in my family has shaped how I approach my own work at Gallagher. His example instills in me a deeper sense of purpose and accountability. Whether sourcing top talent or collaborating with colleagues, I strive to uphold the same integrity and dedication that Bob exemplified in both his military and civic roles. His story reinforces the importance of teamwork, resilience, and service—principles that guide me every day.

As a military spouse, Veterans Day is a day of pride. My husband, Brian, recently retired with 20 years of service with the US Navy.
Being a part of the military community has shaped the way I lead, work with my stakeholders and pursue excellence at every opportunity. I’ve had the honor of attending leadership training from Thayer Academy at West Point, where I learned foundational leadership principles and tactics based in years of military service. The art of the tactical pause, the reflections of an After Action Review, and military based decision making has certainly reframed the way I think about leadership and how I show up for my team. As a military spouse, this work is incredibly personal to me and I’m a stronger leader because of it.

My father, Harris Kruger, proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Army, where he coordinated logistics for troops both at home and around the world. He was inspired to serve by his uncle, Edward Goldich, who served in the Army Corps of Engineers through World War Two and landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day.
The example set by these men provides a powerful reminder that every role, whether visible or behind the scenes, is crucial in making a difference and supporting others. Their legacy teaches us the importance of honoring those who came before us by finding meaningful ways to serve with purpose and integrity.

My dad’s approach to life was highly influenced by his time in the NAVY and continued to be so as he spent the rest of his civilian career working at a NAVY training facility. And as is the case in most situations, my dad’s approach to live then in turn had a large influence on my approach to life. Life mantras such as “do the right thing even if no one is watching” and “work smarter, not harder” serve me both in my professional and personal life.
My dad told me about how he spent a significant amount of money to hire a service which helped convert military experience on a resume into ‘civilian speak’. This always stuck with me – it just seemed such a shame to me that people who had risked their lives for our country then had such a challenging path into civilian life. That’s why, when the opportunity to volunteer with The Honor Foundation presented itself I knew I needed to do it. To be able to do help these veterans practice their interview skills in a setting that then allows for feedback about how to perhaps adjust their language or help them focus in on the transferable skills has brought me so much joy I cannot explain it.

My brother’s military career has taught me a lot about the importance of honesty and accountability at work. Hearing his stories about how much he relies on his platoon during deployments has really shaped how I trust and work with my team here at Gallagher. Having a loved one in the military has shown me how important it is to lean on your community and build strong relationships. It’s those connections that help everyone succeed together.
Having a loved one in the military has shown me that doing your best isn’t just about personal success—it’s about being part of something bigger, whether that’s your team, your mentees, or the company as a whole. It’s inspired me to focus on supporting the success of those around me and contributing to the bigger picture. Most importantly, it’s taught me to bring a sense of pride and purpose to everything I do at work.
