My journey at Gallagher Bassett has been both rewarding and transformative. I started as a Claims Handler, managing a variety of cases and building strong skills in claims management, customer service, and problem-solving. Over time, I discovered a keen interest in fraud prevention and investigation, which led me to my current role as Fraud Handler for Travel Claims.

Today, I oversee all fraudulent claims, investigating and mitigating risks to protect both our clients and the organisation. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work helps maintain trust and integrity in what we do.

What makes Gallagher Bassett unique?

For me, it’s the focus on support and development. From day one, I’ve felt part of a team that values its people and encourages growth. There are real opportunities to learn, take on new challenges, and progress your career.

One turning point was moving from Claims Handler to Fraud Handler. While working in claims, I noticed patterns that sparked my curiosity about fraud detection. I took the initiative to learn more, and when the opportunity came, I embraced it. Managing the area I’m most passionate about has inspired me to keep pushing forward.

Mentorship that matters

I’ve been lucky to have incredible role models who shared their knowledge and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. Their guidance gave me confidence, independence in my role, and motivated me to keep growing personally and professionally.

Advice for new starters

Have confidence in yourself and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Opportunities don’t always land in your lap, so be proactive, speak up about what you want, and go for it. Trust your instincts and back yourself, because confidence is key to growth.
