Dancing with Determination

When people ask what I do outside of work, they’re often surprised by my answer: I’m a competitive dressage rider. It’s not just a hobby; it’s a lifelong passion that has taught me lessons I carry into my career every day. Dressage is often described as dancing with a horse, but behind that elegance is a world of discipline, adaptability, and trust. These qualities don’t just matter in the arena; they’ve shaped who I am as a colleague at RPS.

The Pursuit That Drives Me

Outside of work, I spend my time training and competing in dressage. The sport is all about communication between horse and rider, making it look effortless while performing complex movements. I’ve been fortunate to earn USDF bronze, silver, and gold medals, and even compete at a CDI in Florida, a big milestone for an amateur like me. My goal now is to bring my young horse to that same level. It’s a challenge, but that’s what keeps me motivated.

How It Fuels My Growth at RPS

Working with horses has shaped my mindset in ways that directly impact my role at RPS. Dressage demands patience, adaptability, and teamwork, and those qualities translate to the office. Success in the arena takes a village, and I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues who encourage me to chase my dreams. At work, I bring that same dedication, whether it’s underwriting or helping my team and branch succeed. Growth isn’t just about titles; it’s about showing up every day ready to learn and contribute.

What Keeps Me Going

I’ve been riding since I was four years old. I fell in love with dressage as a teenager because of the challenge and the bond it creates between horse and rider. Today, that passion is also about setting an example for my two children. I want them to see that hard work and perseverance pay off, no matter what their goals are. Horses have taught me that lesson, and now my daughter rides too. I hope she learns the same values. Because growth, in life and at work, starts with never giving up.
