From first steps to leadership

I joined with absolutely no prior knowledge of the insurance industry. I started as an admin and call centre agent, eager to learn. During my first 6 months, I immersed myself in learning and developing my skills, which led to my promotion to Admin Team Leader. That early support made a real difference.

After leading the admin team for two years, I helped transform the department and became Call Centre Team Leader. Eight months later, I stepped into my current role as Head of Intake. My journey has been both challenging and rewarding, allowing me to grow professionally and contribute significantly to our team's success.

Culture that connects

We celebrate both professional and personal achievements, and we genuinely engage with each other. The bond we share makes work feel like a second home. Having such a supportive and friendly group of people around makes work so much easier and more enjoyable. At Gallagher Bassett, everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, which is truly special.

Being part of the Emerging Leadership Project was a turning point. This opportunity has been transformative for me, helping me grow both personally and professionally. It pushed me to lead with confidence. The recognition I’ve received has been incredibly motivating.

Mentorship that matters

I was promoted just six months in, thanks to the support around me. My ideas and thoughts were never ignored, and I always felt truly heard. Mentorship here goes beyond teams. This culture of guidance and encouragement has played a significant role in shaping my career.

Advice for new starters
