As the longest running internship in the industry, the Gallagher Sales Internship Program began in 1965 with a single intern. More than 50 years later, our program has grown globally to employ more than 400 interns each summer.
Our interns play an invaluable role at Gallagher. Many of our executive and branch leaders got their start through the internship program, including our Chairman, President and CEO, Pat Gallagher, intern class of 1972.

Internship Overview
The Gallagher Sales Internship Program is a robust nine-week program that provides an inside look into the full time role of a producer or consultant. Interns work side by side with Gallagher professionals to experience our "learn by doing culture" through:

Internship recruiting activity occurs between September and February each year. To connect with Gallagher, please contact your career center for upcoming events. Upon successful completion of first round interviews, selected candidates will participate in final round interviews.

Recruitment Process
We’re looking for candidates passionate about building relationships, creative problem solving, and demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn.
Apply: Eligible candidates must be rising sophomores and juniors with an expected graduation between December 2023 and June 2025. Apply to your desired geographic region to be considered. All job postings list participating branch locations. Our national application will close at the end of February but some offices may conclude recruiting earlier.

YPP Young Professional Program – Colombia
The Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a recruitment initiative for talented, highly qualified professionals to start a career in Gallagher. It consists of a professional development program of 18 months where candidates learn about the insurance and reinsurance world.
This program aims to attract, develop and retain professional personnel with excellent academic backgrounds and high development potential, destined to form the next generation and the next line of leadership in Gallagher, thus guaranteeing the sustainability of the strategy in the long term.
In an 18-month learning cycle, the young professionals will make a complete rotation through the different areas of insurance and reinsurance guaranteeing their knowledge in the key processes of the business, to finally assume a role in some of the areas that meet their career expectations.
Program Structure

We have carefully curated an experience that will allow for various touchpoints within the company, allowing our program participants a well-rounded and robust idea of who Gallagher is and what we offer before final placement.

YPP is an 18 month program with a 70-20-10 training approach. You will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program and will complete what we refer to as an Improvement Project presentation. Additionally, we make sure that we are constantly monitoring your performance and contribution in each area of the program.
70% on the job learning through daily execution of tasks, implementation of the improvement project, and deep immersion in the area. 20% learning from others through the permanent support of the assigned mentor, the leaders of each area, and constant interaction with peers and colleagues. 10% Formal training and learning through participation in courses, symposiums, eLearn or Skillsoft, Master class, among others.
Our 18 month program is divided into a rotational schedule. You will spend 7 months in insurance, 7 months in reinsurance, 2 months in consulting, 1 month in claims, and 1 month spent on your project presentation. Once the 18 months have commenced you will receive your final placement.
