Building Something New: Gallagher Re's Growing Facultative Team

When I joined Gallagher Re earlier this year, I was looking for more than just a new role. After spending several years with a major competitor, I wanted an opportunity to help shape something from the ground up, work alongside talented people, and make a meaningful impact. What I found at Gallagher has exceeded my expectations.

As an Associate Broker on the Gallagher Re team in Atlanta, Georgia, my days are focused on helping clients find the best facultative reinsurance solutions for their needs. It's a fast-moving and collaborative environment where every placement is an opportunity to create value for our clients and strengthen partnerships across the business.

Helping Clients Navigate Opportunities

My role centers on working with clients, Gallagher retail teams, and RPS to identify the best facultative reinsurance options available in the market.

My day to day consists of meeting with different clients and helping them figure out where they can best find and put facultative reinsurance on their accounts so that they can leverage ang grow their lines."

With significant market capacity available, our team is focused on creating the best possible outcomes for clients. That means finding competitive pricing, exploring opportunities across global markets, and ensuring every account receives the attention it deserves.

A big part of our mission is helping internal partners understand the facultative opportunities available to them and their clients. We work closely with teams across the business to provide insight, strategy, and support.

Our main goal right now is making sure that different teams know that we're here and able to assist them and strategize with them on how we can best help their clients.

Why I Chose Gallagher

What really got me to Gallagher was the opportunities to build a new FAC team.

The chance to join a rapidly growing facultative business and help define its future was incredibly appealing. I saw an organization investing in growth, innovation, and people, and I wanted to be part of that journey.

Another major draw was the ability to work alongside RPS. Having an in-house wholesaler creates opportunities that are difficult to replicate elsewhere. It has been a really big pull and an awesome opportunity for us to gain facultative insights and be able to help our retail clients.

The collaboration between teams gives us a deeper understanding of client needs and allows us to deliver stronger solutions across the board.

A Team That Continues to Grow

One of the most exciting aspects of joining Gallagher has been witnessing the momentum behind the facultative team in the United States. Despite being with the company for only a few months, I've already experienced the energy that comes with building a growing business. New talent, fresh perspectives, and a shared commitment to success have created an environment where everyone can contribute.

Coming from a larger competitor, I was also surprised by the capabilities and opportunities available here. That combination of talented people, strong resources, and a growth mindset has made a significant difference in my experience.

Because we're building and evolving our facultative business, team members are encouraged to share ideas, challenge thinking, and help shape the future. There's been a lot of time and room for advice and what kind of technology we would like to see that's coming and how we want our submissions to look.

Rather than inheriting a process that's been in place for decades, we're helping design what comes next. That level of involvement has been both rewarding and empowering. It's been great to build a team and be a part of something from the ground up. We're creating a business built on collaboration, expertise, and innovation. For me, that's what makes this journey so exciting.
