I joined Gallagher almost two years ago, and since day one, the journey has been driven by curiosity, challenge, and continuous development. Today, as Director of Data & Analytics in Latin America, I lead the development of data solutions, metrics, and workflows across the region. Every day brings a new opportunity to learn, stretch, and build something better and that’s exactly what motivates me and my team.
What makes this role especially meaningful is the people. I have the privilege of leading a team of 12 incredibly talented individuals who bring energy, ownership, and a strong appetite for growth. Together, we’re constantly asking how we can work smarter, deliver more value, and continue evolving.
Growth Starts with Asking Better Questions
About six months ago, I came across a challenge that became a defining moment for our team. We hadn’t yet integrated AI into our processes not due to resistance, but because we didn’t fully understand how to apply it in a way that genuinely added value.
Instead of accepting that as a limitation, I leaned into curiosity. I spent time on the ground with our supervisors, learning the process end to end. That’s when the opportunity became clear. Data entry was slow and heavily manual, with teams spending hours extracting information from PDFs. It was a bottleneck and a clear signal that there had to be a better way.
Taking that insight forward, we challenged ourselves to think differently.
Together with my team, we built an AI solution that automatically extracts data from PDFs and delivers it straight into Excel for our operations teams. What once took hours became seamless. More importantly, it freed up capacity allowing teams to redirect their time and energy toward higher value, more strategic work.
This wasn’t just about implementing new technology. It was about stretching into unfamiliar territory, building new capability, and proving to ourselves that we could learn, adapt, and deliver something meaningful.
Measuring Impact and Celebrating Success
We measure our impact in terms of Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) saved, and the results have been impressive. As operations grew, our data entry team remained the same size. Our AI solution scaled with us, allowing us to deliver more with the same fantastic team.
Securing the necessary access took time, but thanks to the unwavering support of our leadership, we made it happen clearing the path for innovation. Regular communication and feedback sessions with stakeholders shaped the final product, ensuring it aligned with user needs and organizational goals. Access to training resources helped the team quickly acquire the skills needed to stay ahead of technological advancements.
But what fills me with pride isn't just the numbers; it's the people. Everyone involved was passionate and committed to making a real difference. This project became the foundation for new initiatives, demonstrating the power of cross-functional collaboration in achieving operational excellence.
