The most valuable lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from a training program—they came from the people willing to share their experience."

When I joined Gallagher through the Achieve Program, I was eager to learn, gain experience, and begin building my career. What I didn’t expect was how much of that growth would come not only from the work itself, but from the people around me.

The program provided opportunities to develop industry knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and earn professional licenses that strengthened my understanding of the business. But beyond the formal development opportunities, I quickly discovered a culture where learning happens every day through collaboration, mentorship, and shared experiences.

Learning beyond the Program

Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from training sessions. They came from conversations.

From the beginning, I was surrounded by colleagues who were willing to answer questions, share insights, and help me navigate new challenges. Having access to people who genuinely wanted to support my development gave me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and embrace new opportunities.

Those everyday interactions taught me that growth isn’t something you achieve alone. It’s something that happens when people invest in one another’s success.

The Power of Curiosity

One lesson that has stayed with me throughout my journey is the importance of staying curious.

Early in my career, I viewed networking as a way to learn what people did. Today, I see it differently. The most meaningful conversations often come from understanding how people think, approach challenges, and make decisions.

Whenever I see someone successfully navigate a complex situation, I make an effort to learn from their experience. Those conversations have expanded my perspective, strengthened my understanding of the business, and helped me build valuable relationships across the organization.

Growing through Networking

As I’ve continued to grow, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for how connected our work really is.

Learning from people across different teams and areas of expertise has helped me better understand how we work together to support our clients and drive success. It has also reinforced something I see every day at Gallagher: people genuinely want to help each other grow.

That balance of personal ownership, collaboration, and support has been one of the most rewarding parts of my experience.

Looking ahead

The Achieve Program has taught me that career growth isn’t about having everything figured out from day one. It’s about staying open to learning, building meaningful relationships, and taking advantage of opportunities to grow.

As I look ahead, I’m excited to continue learning from the talented people around me and discovering where that curiosity will lead next

The Gallagher Way

Growth starts with curiosity. When people are empowered to learn, supported by those around them, and encouraged to build meaningful connections, confidence follow and, so does opportunity.
