As Area Senior Vice President at Gallagher, I’m fortunate to work for a company that actively encourages community involvement and giving back. That culture is exactly what made this story possible.

When I came across a Facebook post about residents from Oakmont Estates, an assisted living community that has provided loving care for seniors in south-central Louisiana since 2000, who hoped to attend their first ever LSU baseball game I felt compelled to help. This wasn’t about tickets; it was about sharing an experience.

At Gallagher, employees are trusted to act when they see an opportunity to make a difference, so what could have felt like a long shot immediately felt achievable.

What began as one post quickly turned into a plan. Knowing Gallagher had access to a suite at Alex Box Stadium, I reached out to our Regional Presidents, and their response was instant and unanimous: “Yes! We can make that happen.”

Once a date was set, I contacted the LSU Athletic Department, shared the residents’ story, and LSU took it from there.

A Memorable Night for Oakmont Estates Residents

For me, the heart of this story is the residents and the experience they had that night. The whole evening was built around giving them something they wouldn’t forget. When they arrived at Alex Box, they were welcomed at the gates, escorted to the suite, and featured on the stadium big screen as the crowd welcomed them to the game.

Thoughtful touches elevated the experience throughout the evening. Each resident received a handwritten note from Head Coach Jay Johnson and premium swag bags filled with LSU Championship blankets, caps, cups, and pennants delivered personally by the LSU Bat Girls.

Inside the suite, they enjoyed full hospitality in a comfortable, celebratory setting that made their first Tiger baseball game truly unforgettable.

What I’ll remember most is seeing the residents take it all in. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they walked through the gates of Alex Box and then when they stepped into the suite and the repeated question, “Is this all for us?” I also remember the cheering, the dancing in their seats, and watching them wrap up in their LSU Championship blankets. Those moments captured what the night was about: creating joy, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Culture of Giving Back at Gallagher

While this story is about community impact, it also reflects how Gallagher works.

There were no long approval chains or barriers. I shared an idea with leaders who shared the same values, and the momentum followed naturally. One simple call was all it took. That support speaks volumes about a culture where people are empowered to act with purpose. It reflects our commitment to giving back in ways that are personal, practical, and deeply rooted in the communities we serve.

Despite our global scale, Gallagher has always felt like a place where initiative, creativity, and collaboration are valued and where employees are trusted to do what’s right."

My Role in Making it Happen

This was absolutely a shared effort, but I’m grateful I got to help get it started.

I saw the opportunity, connected the right people, kept things moving, and helped turn an idea into a fully hosted experience that meant so much to the residents. Being part of that moment was deeply rewarding. It also sparked something bigger, a reminder that community impact doesn’t stop with one event. It inspires what comes next.

This experience reinforced something I truly value about Gallagher: great people, a family feel, and a culture without unnecessary 'hoops'. Everyone involved simply wanted to see it happen.

For the residents of Oakmont Estates, this was a night they’ll always remember. For everyone involved, it was a powerful reminder of what happens when care, quick action, and support come together. It showed how one moment of initiative can create meaningful impact and how Gallagher’s culture helps turn good intentions into unforgettable experiences.

When people are empowered and supported, small acts of kindness can become something far bigger. That night proved just that.
