Why I Came Back to Gallagher Bassett

My journey with Gallagher Bassett began nearly nine years ago when I joined as a Resolution Manager after working in auto claims. At the time, I was looking for an opportunity to learn and grow, and I quickly discovered a passion for general liability.

As I developed my skills and gained experience, I was able to progress into a supervisor role.

I eventually decided to explore a new opportunity. I accepted a role with another company and spent four years there. While the experience helped me broaden my perspective, it also showed me just how unique Gallagher Bassett really is.

Sometimes You Need a Different Perspective

Working elsewhere gave me the opportunity to experience a different culture, leadership style, and approach to supporting employees. What stood out most was the difference in how people were supported.

In many organizations, employees can feel isolated, especially when working remotely. You're kind of stranded on an island where you don't get the training and the support that you get at Gallagher Bassett. I really missed the culture here and I decided to come back.

There is a strong effort to keep people connected. There's a lot of Teams calls and face-to-face video, it's really nice because it gives you that office feel when you're in a remote world. When I returned, I was reminded of something I hadn't fully appreciated until I was gone: the relationships.

Growth Doesn't Have Limits

Returning to Gallagher Bassett wasn't just about culture. It was also about opportunity.

Throughout my career, I've seen firsthand how far you can go when you're willing to learn and take on new challenges. After coming back, I continued growing and eventually stepped into my current role as Assistant Branch Manager.

When people ask me what it takes to succeed here, my answer is always the same: If you have passion and you want to learn insurance and excel in claims, you can do anything that you want.

The resources, training, and support are all available. The possibilities are there for anyone willing to embrace them.

Why I'm Still Excited to Be Here

When I think about what truly sets Gallagher Bassett apart, it comes down to one thing: people.

I see it every day. Everyone really around you cares. They want to see you succeed and they want to give you the tools and resources to do it. That's what brought me back. And it's why I'm still here today.

In fact, it's something I've never experienced anywhere else. I've never worked in a place before where I'm excited to log in every morning.

For me, returning to Gallagher Bassett wasn't about coming back to a company. It was about coming back to a culture, a community, and a place that believes in helping people succeed. And that's made all the difference.
