At Gallagher, excellence is more than a goal—it’s a commitment woven into the fabric of our everyday work. To me, ‘commitment to excellence’ means consistently pushing for the highest quality, staying resilient in the face of challenges, and always prioritizing integrity in everything I do.

Since joining Gallagher as an Associate in Global Human Resources Shared Services 3 years ago, I’ve been on an incredible journey of growth and discovery. Along the way, I’ve learned the value of clear goal-setting, attention to detail, and the importance of embracing every learning opportunity.

In my role, I strive to uphold Gallagher’s commitment to excellence by focusing on continuous improvement, whether that means refining existing processes, learning new technologies, or finding ways to elevate our standards through teamwork. Each day, I’m guided by a simple but powerful mindset: quality over quantity, always.

A Defining Project

One of the defining moments in Gallagher, came early on with the Early Talent Project. Initially, I was just a backup, but my manager recognized my dedication and trusted me to lead this project when unforeseen circumstances demanded it. Despite the tight timeline and my limited experience in a lead role, I gave it everything. I often put extra hours in refining processes, organizing team efforts, and making sure every aspect aligned with organisation’s high standards.

This project presented me with an opportunity to showcase trust and resilience. That experience ultimately led to the formation of our Talent Acquisition Global Support (TAGS) India Team. It set me on a path toward becoming a Senior Analyst - to my current role as a subject matter expert for Talent Connect and Early Talent.”

Reflecting on this journey, I realize that the faith and the supportive environment created by my colleagues and managers – has fueled my commitment to excellence every day since.

How Collaboration Drives Excellence

One of the most rewarding aspects of working here is the team culture that inspires collaboration. Here, every voice counts. By sharing knowledge and diverse perspectives, we push each other to find innovative solutions to challenges and continually improve. My colleagues support me through open feedback and mentorship, and together, we bring out the best in each other. This teamwork not only fosters efficiency but also ensures that we maintain a high standard in everything we do, which is fundamental to The Gallagher Way.

Role of Upskilling in My Role

When we adopted iCIMS, a new system, I saw an opportunity to expand my understanding of its functions beyond just operations. I volunteered for additional training to gain insights from the perspectives of recruiters, hiring managers, and Talent Acquisition leaders. This not only helped me resolve stakeholder questions more effectively but also empowered me to contribute at a higher level within my team.

Keeping up with new technologies, best practices, and industry trends has been crucial in helping me bring my best to the table. I’ve learned that staying ahead allows me to offer innovative solutions, streamline processes, and ultimately be a reliable resource for my team.

Championing Challenges

The pursuit of excellence isn’t without its challenges. Whether it’s adapting to new technologies, managing time constraints, or working with limited resources, staying consistent can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. I remember the challenges we faced when iCIMS was first introduced; even today, there’s always something new to learn. But I’ve found that tackling these obstacles with innovative thinking – approaching each issue with a problem-solving mindset – is essential to achieving our goals.

Taking a step back and looking the hurdle from afar helps me determine effective solutions to resource limitations, supports collaboration with my team, and reinforces a mindset of unlearning and learning. Through these practices, I strive to elevate quality of my work.

If there’s one piece of advice I’d give to anyone, it’s this: be curious, stay focused, and never underestimate the power of teamwork. Set clear goals, break them into manageable steps, and embrace each learning opportunity. Seek feedback, adapt, and don’t fear failure – it’s a steppingstone to success. Each accomplishment, no matter how minor, fuels the journey toward greater achievement.

A Vision for Excellence

If I could create an award at Gallagher, I would call it the Legacy of Excellence Award. It would honor team members who consistently demonstrate outstanding performance, with an eye to detail, lead, and be a team player. It’s not just about what we accomplish individually but how we inspire each other to be better every day, contributing to long-term goals and elevating our collective standards.
