Overview

To provide technical risk and regulatory advice, and perform control testing in relation to Artex Risk Solutions (Guernsey) Ltd, both in respect of Artex Guernsey’s own requirements, as well as overseeing the effective performance of the risk and compliance function for a growing portfolio of clients, working with the local client teams and international teams within Artex.


How you'll make an impact

Responsibilities:


• Assist with the development of strategies and approaches to help clients and prospective clients with implementing procedures to address new and existing risk and regulatory developments
• Provide technical advise and recommendations to resolve risk issues and incidents arising within Artex’s client base and internally, working with client service teams to identify and remediate issues.
• Conduct control attestation testing and review process effectiveness to ensure the risk of regulatory or procedural breaches is minimized. Make recommendations for improvements.
• Assist with and form part of the internal training team, delivering training and advice to both staff and clients and working on thought leadership articles around industry developments and new technical considerations
• Work with the Head of Risk & Compliance and Head of Operations to oversee and monitor the review and update of all policies, procedures, internal checklists and template documents to ensure control effectiveness and risk minimization, as well as compliance with local regulatory requirements and Gallagher/Artex International requirements
• Maintenance of the Artex/clients’ Risk Appetite Statements and Business Risk Assessments in respect of all risks, including financial crime, and identifying any changes or gaps for consideration by the Board.
• Monitoring of completion of the client risk matrix with results of client risk assessment reviews.
• Review of high-risk relationships including Enhanced Due Diligence requirements
• Oversee and advise on the completion of client risk assessments by client teams
• Oversight of the process of gathering of client due diligence (CDD) for accepted new business, revision of initial client risk assessments, and sign-off of final CDD files and client risk assessments
• Oversight of the conduct of screening/sanctions reviews (Dow Jones, open source etc.) for trigger events (change of directors, controllers etc.), new payees, occasional transactions

 

Working With:


• Client Service Directors / client teams, overseeing the complete and accurate submission of new client enquiry forms, annual client review forms, routine monitoring and compliance checklists
• The local compliance team and GCoE/Sri Lanka team, providing operational oversight and monitroring performance.
• The wider Artex compliance team based in other jurisdictions, to share knowledge, manage group compliance resources, and oversee delegated compliance activity.


Business management responsibilities:


• Attendance as a member of the Risk Committee of the Board
• Oversight of controls and risk management systems development
• Liaise with the wider Artex risk teams and monitor adherence to, and remediation of breaches of policies and procedures


About You

Personal attributes, knowledge and experience:


• Proven management ability
• Experience at senior level in advisory or risk management role
• Qualified with an Insurance or Financial Services Qualification
• Attention to detail & Hilghly Organsed
• High degree of integrity
• Confident, strong communicator and presenter (written and verbal)
• Ability to work happily within a team and share the workload efficiently
• Flexible enough to maintain high quality work in a changing environment
