Job Details:


This SIU Investigator position will be based in Tampa, FL. This individual will be working under the direction of the SIU Manager, and communicating and working very closely with claim department adjusters and managers. Conduct investigations to detect fraud on claims against the company. Provide investigative expertise to limit exposure and protect company assets. This position will have a combination of field investigation and desk investigation responsibilities. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense.

  • Starting Pay: Based on education & experience

  • Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm  (Must be flexible to work nontraditional hours based on business need.)

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES      

 

  • Conducts investigations with a focus on thoroughness, quality, with attention to detail, timeliness and   cost control

  • Investigate applicable automobile claims and assist the claims department in the resolution of suspicious claims.

  • Prepares and submits investigative reports covering all phases of the investigation in each case for approval.

  • Assist the claims department in the utilization of databases such as NICB, ISO and other Internet based resources.

  • Prepare and identify applicable files for Examinations Under Oath (EUO) and whenever possible, personally conduct and/or attend the EUO.

  • Establishes and maintains liaison with public officials, law enforcement officers and others to obtain assistance in conducting investigations.

  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality required handling information that is considered personal and confidential.

  • Assist the SIU Manager in providing fraud awareness training to the Company staff as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  •  Law Enforcement and/or Claims Adjusters experience

  •  Familiar with fraud statutes: local, state and federal

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  •  Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).

  •  Ability to interpret public record information systems and claims history in order to support the    

             investigative process.

  •  Demonstrated ability to analyze information, develop logical questions and accurately report findings

  • Computer literate; database and Internet proficient

  • Must possess excellent Interviewing skills
