Gallagher Bassett UK was founded in 1991 and now has twelve offices across the UK with over 300 claims handling staff.

Gallagher Bassett UK provides claims management and risk management services to corporate, national and local government, insurer and broker clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Review and record claims on our in-house system within product standards, check policy coverage and allocate appropriate codes and reserves.
• Ensure all client specific questions are asked and data obtained
• Adhere to 100% accuracy in respect of data entry quality.
• Respond to all written and phone enquiries clearly, courteously and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with clients’ processes and requirements ensuring customer satisfaction and expectations are successfully managed.
• Develop relationships with clients by providing a friendly, efficient service.
• Set clear expectations and next steps to the client
• When required assist with the attempted capture of Third Parties in line with the client requirements and conditions.
• Sell the benefits of our approved repairer network to ensure Own Damage and Third Party damage is managed by us
• Ensure challenges to the above and addressed and every effort is made to overcome objections to preferred process
• Work closely with those around you and offer support and guidance to ensure all claims run smoothly in a proactive manner
• Ensure you utilise soft skills and tailor your approach to the requirements of the caller
• Assist in general office administration (e.g. post, printing, order supplies, maintaining equipment) to ensure smooth running of office where required.
• Comply with all Gallagher Bassett and office procedures
• Any other duties as required by Gallagher Bassett

Additional Considerations:

Qualifications:


• Good understanding of the motor insurance industry or financial background
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels, bilingual skills beneficial
• Previous phone based customer service experience ideally gained within the insurance industry
• Ability to meet specific deadlines
• A committed and flexible approach
• Displays enthusiasm and commitment, willing to own problems and take responsibility for own actions, ability to think outside the box to solve problems on the spot.
• Good knowledge and understanding of the company’s in-house claims system and a working knowledge of all other systems to use as part of the role
• Familiar with vehicle types, makes and models
• Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough data capture
• Proficient computer skills
