About The Role

The UX and Marketing Research Specialist role will help to move our business forward to create dynamic digital experiences that drive leads across Gallagher digital properties and solve business problems through research. As part of the Digital Experience team, on the Corporate Digital Marketing team, we are like a start-up within a 90+ year old company that continues to expand service offerings globally. We are in the midst of digital transformation, unifying our regions and digital properties on Sitecore and using tools such as seoClarity to optimize content and Ion Interactive, to create dynamic interactive experiences in a timely manner. Collectively, our team has introduced industry best practices and tools to the organization. It’s an exciting time to be a part of our Corporate Digital Marketing team.

We’re looking for a UX and Marketing Research Specialist who will join our agile team to improve our customers’ digital experience across Gallagher brands (Gallagher, Artex, RPS, GallagherRe and more). You will have experience with both UX Research and Marketing Research. You’ll be an integral part of working with global stakeholders and the digital team to develop research guides, conduct a variety of marketing and UX research studies as well as create and present research insights to stakeholders. In addition, you will be an evangelist of Marketing and UX Research as this is a new capability to Gallagher. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience of both marketing research and UX research methods and best practices, ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and create compelling insights from the data.

Gallagher is one of the largest insurance, risk management and consulting firms with over 35,000 employees globally. Headquartered in Rolling Meadows, IL, this role is remote to start, and when we return to the offices, will be located in our Chicago office with occasional visits to HQ.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Develop end-to-end marketing and UX research projects from engagement to delivery that may include qualitative and quantitative methods, with a strong emphasis on delivering impactful insights/results.
  • A key member of our laytrack team that conducts UX Research for our public-facing websites to ensure what we are designing/building improves the customer experience.
  • Conduct competitive analysis studies across our brands and sites to monitor trends in digital customer experience and accessibility
  • Build internal relationships within Gallagher global divisions to introduce Marketing and UX Research to and propose long-term research goals to drive high-level strategic thinking
  • Develop personas and customer journey maps for Gallagher global divisions as requested
  • Facilitate Marketing and UX research sessions including qualitative user research techniques such as user and stakeholder interviews, usability tests, persona development and contextual observation
  • Create impactful and actionable insights and observations for stakeholders
  • Manage research tools and vendors(currently: usertesting.com; Qualtrics; outside vendors)
  • Develop customer personas and archetypes for Gallagher brands
  • Serve as trusted expert on marketing and UX research trends, staying apprised of latest research tools and services to consider
  • Other duties as assigned
Required: 
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required. 
  • Experience with managing Salesforce.com and Marketing Automation Tools (like Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Hubspot, Eloqua, Watson, or Marketo) in a B2B environment required.
Desired:
  • 4+ years of experience in a Marketing and UX Research role
  • Experience with UX Research on global brands for digital properties (websites)
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to be able to relay these research methodology concepts and findings to product department personnel and to other collaborating personnel in a clear, simple, and relatable manner.
  • Usability moderating (all types)
  • Experience in developing customer journey maps
  • Participant recruiting/screener creation, experimental design, test method selection, debriefing, facilitation,
  • Statistical/qualitative/quantitative analysis, presentations (verbal and written​​​​​​)
Work Traits: 
  • Demonstrated experience developing creating and executing unbiased Marketing Research and UX Research projects from intake thru insights including discussion guides and research decks for readouts with an emphasis on digital experiences for public-facing websites
  • Identify the right research method to solve stakeholder problems
  • Data-driven – from multiple research tools, Google Analytics, and create insights that can help stakeholders create action
  • Comfortable presenting research proposals and research insights to stakeholders – whether in person or via conference call
  • Actively participate in research planning and writing user stories
  • Experience with usertesting.com, Qualtrics, HotJar and other tools
  • Flexibility to meet with global stakeholders
