Your Role

Life at GB is an adventure – often fast paced, unpredictable, challenging and deeply rewarding. We are establishing a brand-new team that will initially focus on Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims, but will provide an opportunity to expand further to manage more technically complex claims. 

This newly established Complex Claims Team will report through to our Senior Legal Manager, which will provide greater cross-skilling and knowledge transfer with our Technical Managers.  This team will focus on technical excellence and allow for varying levels of technical expertise, and clear opportunities for development and progression.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the setting and delivery of high quality and technically competent claims management decisions, including thorough factual and medical investigations.  You will establish processes, tools, and templates to ensure consistent and high-quality decision-making across technically challenging aspect of claims management.

You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following:

  • Drive a behaviour within the business of technical excellence and strategic claim management decision making
  • Act in a coaching and mentoring role to upskill and improve technical capability across the business.
  • Build strong internal and external relationship, supporting our Legal Panel by being the subject matter experts to positively influence Scheme outcomes.
  • Ensuring decision making is in line with legislation, case law and RTWSA’s expectations.
  • Research and apply best practise in technical application and develop continuous improvement initiatives.

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

  • Technical knowledge in workers compensation or personal injury
  • Knowledge of the Return to Work Act 2014, subordinate legislation and case law
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Relationship and influencing skills.
  • Experience in designing, coaching and facilitation training
  • Must be flexible, adaptive and ability to work autonomously.
  • A love of learning, mentoring and a desire to continually develop yourself.
  • Bachelor of Law is desired but not essential
