We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Application Support Analyst to provide help on a wide range of systems; essentially ensuring our business keeps moving forwards with the high standards we continue to drive across our organisation.


The successful applicant will provide maintenance and admin support services for a targeted high profile area of our business. Investigative and build capabilities form an essential part of this role, with reactive and proactive problem solving, monitoring performance and documenting essential knowledge.


An office based role at our IT hub in Wakefield and includes the potential for flexible working. Travel to other UK offices is occasional but forms an essential part of this position.


Your Role:

  • Find and resolve issues with our systems and applications, taking proactive approaches using your own initiative and applying repairs and preventative measures where possible under strict change control processes.
  • Manage and recommend application improvements to drive business performance.
  • High levels of attention to detail specifically when documenting changes and application implementations.
  • Provide advice, expertise and assistance to less experienced colleagues, using real opportunities to mentor and share knowledge for essential and strong team building.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with customers, reporting key information in an understandable format.
  • Work schedules include shifts, on call and rotas to fulfil business support requirements.

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Application Support with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.
  • 3-5 years Application Support experience in a medium to large corporate environment
  • Proven track record in providing support services and knowledge management across a range of high profile and critical applications in use across a large organisation.
  • Knowledge of good quality processes including ITIL working to strict Corporate IT policies
  • Ability to grasp and interpret written and verbal communication quickly, sharing salient points effectively.
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Technically competent across multiple platforms with a demonstrable ability to explain technical information to any audience.
  • Tenacious and self-motivated, effectively managing own workload to deliver results.
  • To lead, research and triage complex problems individually and within a team, providing appropriate tactical and strategic solutions as necessary.
  • Ability to manage varying priorities with a consistent approach to innovation under potentially challenging circumstances.
  • Strong team work and stakeholder management skills are essential
  • Experience with Oracle databases and Insurance industry knowledge would be advantageous though not essential
  • Eligible to work in the UK
