Position Summary:

The Systems Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of business system projects built on the Microsoft Dynamics platform, providing leadership on managing schedule, tasks, removing obstacles and coordinating efforts amongst various teams.

Daily activities will focus on managing multiple projects, following procedures to ensure solutions are approved for deployment and working with the Practice Leader to ensure that team resources are appropriately aligned and focused on needed activities to drive initiatives that are on the practice roadmap. The Project Manager will also provide guidance on the Scrum framework and potentially act as Scrum Master for various development teams within the Dynamics Practice.

You will be employed by the Company in the position of Systems Project Manager in the Dynamics practice. You will report directly to the Dynamics Practice Lead or designate. You will perform your work and services for the Company primarily from your home, and at such other locations to which you may be required to travel from time to time in the course of your employment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The System Project Manager generally (without limitation), conducts the following:

  • Manages multiple technology and technology related projects, leading the planning and scheduling and ensuring coordination amongst resources
  • Manages project budgets and financials
  • Troubleshoots complex issues, co-ordinates the integration of various teams and activities and ensures compliance with expected quality standards
  • Ensures optimum utilization of resources and meeting of budgetary targets
  • Works closely with the Practice Leader to prepare and manage ongoing resource planning to ensure that resources are properly aligned with the strategic roadmap defined by the Practice Leader in conjunction with business leaders
  • Manages project issues by ensuring visiblity, identifying stakeholders, determining root cause, facilitating solutions, driving to timely decision making and actively communicating to stakeholders
  • Prepares project deliverables as applicable including, but not limited to, project charter, project plan, status reports, risk register
  • Acts as Scrum Master for various Scrum teams as needed
  • Assists in developing the practics policies, procedures and its strategic plans
  • Works with the Practice Leader to evaluate, develop and implement improvements to existing methods and approaches
  • Works with supporting resources to ensure they are following procedure and ahering to schedule and compliance expectations
  • Manages the process required for releases to Production
  • Coordinates teams across GBS as needed to ensure delivery as required by the Dynamics Practice



Project Management

  • Minimum 4 years related experience managing technology projects
  • Experience producing detailed project schedules and managing resource requirements
  • Extensive experience doing project reporting, including executive level briefings
  • Strong ability to understand the big picture and dependencies across projects/teams and adjust schedule or plan as needed
  • Experience identifying, documenting and managing risks within projects
  • Experience working with the Scrum Framework and SDLC
  • Ideally, has a PMP and Scrum Master certification

Communication Skills

  • Strong ability to communicate with stakeholders and get support/approval for proposed approach or schedule
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to relay complex ideas simply
  • Superior speaking, listening, writing and presentation abilities
  • Ability to communicate business feedback to development team
  • Must be comfortable speaking and writing to C-level audiences

Technical Skills

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM system implementations
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Project Management & Reporting tools 

Interpersonal skills:

  • Excellent ability to work with users in both a group and individual setting
  • Ability to quickly understand what a user is communicating and direct them to the appropriate training or support option
  • Flexibility to shift priorities as needed to service the needs of the department
  • Ideally, minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, management or related service industry
