The Premium Insurance Analyst III reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor within the Gallagher Global Division (GGB).  The Analyst III role functions as a subject matter for agency bill premium projects, process improvement and leads a team of analyst.  This analyst position identifies trends in data and implements business process improvements that will lead to a positive impact on operation effectiveness.  Serve as project lead on premium insurance projects from planning stage through the implementation.  Provide guidance to lower-level Analyst for resolution of complex issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

Build rapport among insurance markets, developing and maintaining improved and value-added working relationship.

Analyze information gathered from multiple sources to manage special programs and premium calculations to mitigate risk.

Evaluate and research upward trends to identify the underlying reason to make the appropriate recommendations that will reduce future liabilities.

Design and document business processes and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness.  

Continually monitor process to ensure procedures and goals are being met. 

Execute root causes analysis and address findings with onshore and offshore teams

Serve as key contact between markets and internal production teams, ensuring prompt resolution of premium discrepancies, disputes, and unreconciled items.

Develop effective reporting tools to audit and monitor various agency systems to determine if Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being met and ensure we are complainant within the documented Key Controls. 

Become the subject matter expert that will allow the ability to lead projects and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and ability to effectively communicate in a fast pace environment.

Coach and train lower Conduct training Create training documents and Conduct training and 

Perform high level testing in coordination with the system regression testing by quality assurance teams.

Organize and lead department meetings surrounding new system integration and new process procedure.

Ensure balance sheet variances are resolved within scheduled deadlines. 

Refine standard operating procedures and for new processes, thoroughly document end to end. 

Perform all duties in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate Financial Policy, BSD Policy and Departmental Procedures.  

Oversee pre-month-end close processes by ensuring all tasks are complete. 

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functions:

Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals.  

Maintain accounting support files.  

Participate in tasks as assigned for conversion, merger and acquisition integration as they relate to the accounts payable process.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance or Insurance Designation

Minimum 5 years analyst or similar accounting process experience.  

Minimum 2 years of insurance brokerage accounting experience.  

Proficient in Excel, Word and Presentation. 

Agency management system experience strongly desired.

Occasional travel. 

Working Conditions 

Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet individual, team and department goals.

  • Three or more years of related work experience
  • Associates Degree
