Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops procurement programs and strategies for multiple categories in which may include Hardware, Software, Maintenance, Infrastructure, Security, and Consulting Services) with a focus on balancing service with maximized value for the company.  Accountable for identifying and executing cost reductions and ongoing improvements, this position encompasses spend analytics, contract management, cost savings tracking and supplier relationship management.  

Direct responsibilities of the function include: 

  • Category & supplier management
  • Strategic sourcing
  • Contracting, and building relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Acting as a positive challenger/influencer, and applying procurement best-practices to achieve an optimal balance of financial benefit and healthy sustainable supplier relationships
Duties of the position will include developing Continuous Improvement strategies for the responsible categories. This position will also be responsible for measuring and reporting category savings including a savings analysis compared to established goals and objectives.  Manages multiple large, cross-organization supplier sourcing efforts; leading cross-functional, cross-departmental teams to identify, qualify, negotiate and implement suppliers for various programs and projects.

Additional Considerations:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Excellent overall business acumen and understanding of risk mitigation approaches and contract language usage
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to lead multiple highly visible global programs
  • Experience in working and presenting financial information to develop consensus and buy-in for data-based decisions


  • Progressively responsible experience in IT /Telecom Supply Chain management, Strategic Procurement, or Operations Transformation  
  • Knowledge of IT commodity categories including telecom
  • Advanced consulting, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to ensure strategic alignment with multiple parties
  • Ability to work self-directed in fast paced, multitask, and matrixed environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive – requires little supervisory attention
  • Exceptionally strong written/verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence a wide variety of audiences, especially with senior executives.
