Position Summary:

The Software Asset Manager works under the direction of the Global Software Licensing Manager and has responsibility for maintaining robust, effective streamlined processes for IT procurement, licensing and hardware assets. The position entails extensive ongoing involvement in managing software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning and costing.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite and a working knowledge of procurement processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in work sessions and apply professional experience and analytical skills to define recommendations and improve overall processes for compliance within the Flexera FlexNet Manager.
  • Implement business and technical requirements, technical installation, configuration and customization of Flexera rules for software. 
  • Manage the day to day admin console add/remove for various manufacturers, i.e. Adobe, Microsoft, etc. via IDM/Remedy requests.
  • Generate utilization and software metering reporting from Flexera.
  • Provide Flexera & software seller/reseller supplier portal reports for IT, Procurement & business units.
  • Manage monthly reseller Spend Reports & add licenses into Flexera appropriately.
  • Reconcile under-licensed or over-licensed software with the business units.
  • Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors to secure identified savings.
  • Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
  • Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
  • Enter and maintain information to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost in Flexera FlexNet Manager.
  • Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements.
  • Communicate through email, individual interview, group meetings, and presentations to end users, management, developers, and vendors.
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information.
  • Facilitate  the business’ needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products
  • Ensure that maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation on solutions and processes. 





  • High school diploma and 3 years related experience required.


  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience of using/managing Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite or similar application a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of software licensing across multiple platforms and manufacturers a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of using ITSM software (e.g.: Remedy, ServiceNow or Ivanti) a plus
  • Understanding of Procurement processes a plus.
