We are currently seeking to appoint a Social Media Executive to join our UK Marketing team.


Marketing at Gallagher focuses on three core objectives: 1) distinguishing the Gallagher brand; 2) driving marketing activities that translate to organic sales growth; 3) contributing to a differentiated sales and service experience that deepens customer retention and advocacy.


Social media plays an integral role in creating value for customers and the communities we serve by providing timely updates on emerging trends, industry hot topics, and positioning Gallagher’s market credentials. Our broader objective is to deepen engagement and grow our online communities in ways that support our near-term plans and longer term aspirations. As such, this role is accountable for ensuring Gallagher-branded social media channels deliver an engaging experience that also enables us to connect with new customers.


To ensure we consistently present a ‘best in market’ presence, the Social Media Executive researches and analyses social media trends to differentiate our content strategy and optimise campaigns for conversion. This includes regular collaboration with local and international marketers as well as working in partnership with front-line sales teams.



  • The Social Media Executive will contribute to building the UK digital and social media marketing plan, to execute new campaign initiatives to reach and engage target audiences, with the aim of increasing conversion, improving customer journeys and the user experience throughout. This includes a focus on performance metric improvement and ROI reporting.
  • Responsible for day-to-day updates on Gallagher UK social channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) to grow brand visibility and community engagement with the Gallagher brand, and the Premiership Rugby partnership
  • Responsible for maintaining and driving the social content calendar, publishing content, liaising with internal stakeholders, reviewing and optimising content to drive engagement and customer journey optimisation.
  • Supporting, and contributing to, digital marketing campaigns involving a mix of paid, organic and customer acquisition focused activities
  • Contributing to the annual social media plan in partnership with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities to continuously improve and enhance the existing approach
  • Supporting external partner relationships to ensure effective co-ordination, and efficient delivery, of social media marketing activity

Channel management, content optimisation and campaign execution

  • Work with divisional marketing leads and campaign teams to develop social media solutions that respond to pre-agreed performance metrics and business objectives
  • Partner with our ‘Studio’ team to craft and produce compelling content for social campaigns.
  • Test, refine and adapt social media content to tailor for use across multiple channels. Troubleshoot issues, using analytics where available to support any proposed updates
  • Work closely with Social media manager to optimise campaign and media performance of campaigns, providing training and support where appropriate.
  • Provide performance reporting to demonstrate the effectiveness of social media in deepening engagement and delivering results, including competitor analysis where required

Community engagement and growth

  • Day to day active community management across all Gallagher UK social channels.
  • M&A – Digital / social management of on-boarding, social rebranding and/or migration of partner channels.
  • Customer services – Efficient handling customer queries via social channels
  • Ensures all social media channels are fully brand compliant
  • Maintains and builds out Gallagher branded social channels, including LinkedIn showcase pages, lead capture forms and brand assets
  • Manages and reports analytical tracking and performance




  • Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, and/or a digital marketing focused discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3+ years’ experience in a social media, digital marketing and/or campaign focused role, either in-house or external agency


  • Demonstrated experience in social media driven community management and working with reporting and analysis platforms, i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
  • Experience of digital/social campaign discussions to shape measurable end-to-end campaign solutions that activate across a mix of owned, paid and influenced channels
  • Experience in optimising social media channels, pages and content, and setting up A:B and multivariate test environments to monitor performance
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, presentation
  • Ability to shape and deliver customer acquisition and retention campaigns from ideation through to execution and analysis
  • Ability to prioritise and drive multiple projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, working with cross-functional teams.

Skills / Other deliverables

  • Previous experience with social media software is desirable
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and working knowledge of digital marketing and creative production
  • (Desirable) Demonstrated experience of digital marketing analytics and reporting tools, e.g. Google Analytics
  • Experience of social media campaign managers, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions & Sales Navigator.
