The HRCC team is looking for a Senior Compensation Consultant to join their growing practice. The Senior Compensation Consultant will manage consulting assignments to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients that result in profitable sales of the Practice’s products and services. 

Duties include:

Client Relationship Management

  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with clients to set and manage service expectations; communicate problems and issues to clients and proactively suggest solutions.
  • Assist the Senior Leaders to maintain good client relationships and solve problems.
  • Independently manage total compensation consulting services for  clients, including relationships with CEOs and boards.
  • Expand client relationships to provide new services.
  • Partner with individual clients over the long-term to identify, initiate and expand services provided. 
  • Participate in client conference calls to address specific client projects, questions or issues.
  • Participate in the plan design and implementation processes as appropriate;
  • Read "Notes to File" and become familiar with client issues; client plans and political issues.
  • Review client opinion survey results and monitor responses to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction; discuss issues with practice leader, and follow up with the client for resolution.

Project Management

  • Complete project assignments to meet clients’ expectations for timeliness, quality and responsiveness as well as internal expectations for quality, productivity and effective use of resources.
  • Work with the Senior Leaders to assure the delivery of high quality consulting services to clients.
  • Develop project plans and budgets; manage projects to ensure their timely completion within budget; keep the client and management informed of project status, being especially mindful of deadlines. 
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with peers and internal resources.
  • Meet with appropriate consultants & analysts to maintain an efficient flow of client & plan information.
  • Attend planning meetings to discuss project status and ensure the completion of client work within timelines.
  • Understand client expectations; offer ideas and suggestions during the planning meetings and throughout the various phases of the project, as appropriate.
  • Keep Senior Leaders abreast of each project’s status especially in the event they are unable to attend the planning meetings.

Consulting/Client Work

  • Look for opportunities to build client relationships and fulfill consulting services, as appropriate.
  • Travel with Senior Leaders to observe their presentations to clients; deliver presentations independently as assigned.
  • Prepare Notes to File for client meetings in a thorough and timely manner to ensure clear communication to others involved.
  • Attend conventions and association meetings and assist Senior Leaders in conducting seminars and presentations to client groups, as appropriate.

Factual and Experiential Knowledge

  • Obtain Current Factual Knowledge to a substantial degree in one or more of these areas:
    • Healthcare industry, such as general knowledge of the regulatory, accounting and/or political environment of healthcare entities;                                     
    • An understanding of IRS regulations, accounting and audit practices;
    • An understanding of executive compensation and nonqualified plans.
  • Obtain Experiential Knowledge to a substantial degree in one or more of these areas:
    • Selling to or consulting with high net worth individuals (i.e., Healthcare executives, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Board of Directors, Executive Compensation Committees, etc.)
    • Relating to and calling on health care executives, and experience working in those areas;
    • Selling to or consulting with high net worth individuals.

 

Meet regularly with the Practice Leader for mentoring, coaching, and to review performance, goals, and initiatives.

Productivity and Sales

  • Maintains high level of productivity and meets productivity targets
  • Maintains an acceptable billable hours ratio

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field required, advanced degree in Business, Industrial Relations or related area preferred; in special situations significant work experience in executive compensation may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Requires seven to ten years executive compensation consulting experience. Experience in executive benefits desired.
