Are you up for a challenge?  We don't just want a bid project manager; we need you to build a framework to run the entire bid process from an enterprise wide perspective. The key objective is to maximise our ability to retain existing business and win new business.
Your role is to manage the bid response process with the highest integrity. You'll cleverly encompass both Defensive and Offensive bids. Successfully responding to bids, you will standardise our bid qualification procedure. You'll use your superb organisation skills to get the whole process running like clockwork.
Engaging with both the brand and marketing departments, you'll build efficiencies into your process whilst keeping your main focus on bids for large corporates, both from a retail and wholesale basis. You’ll use your industry knowledge to help get the best from our specialist broking teams – ensuring each bid demonstrates the best that Gallagher has to offer.

Your Key Accountabilities:

  • You'll monitor and track progress of each project, re-prioritising if needed and keeping the relevant colleagues updated and informed.
  • Network with other divisions to maximise new business or improve client retention opportunities.
  • Lead all aspects of the Bid Management process. Setting clear objectives and time frames as well as monitoring and analysing results.
  • Working collaboratively, you'll obtain sufficient client/prospect information prior to deadline dates to accurately clarify tender requirements.
  • With your deep knowledge of the process, you'll collate, analyse, and coordinate data to everyone involved. You take pride in being open and communicating clearly. You design and deliver effective risk financing solutions or find alternative avenues.
  • You'll have a passion for details and making our material look appealing. You're in charge of putting the creative touches to our presentations and market information packs.
  • You naturally protect our interests by developing and maintaining business and other technical knowledge in order to effectively advise on any aspect relating to a given risk.
  • Using your dynamic team approach, you kindly share knowledge and experience gained from new business projects with colleagues to help retention and defence of existing clients.
  • You’ll be confident in reporting upwards to senior management on our bid hit rates, lessons learnt, and suggestions on improvements.

Person Specification:

  • Degree qualified or similar experience
  • You demonstrate significant experience working in the insurance market from broking, underwriting or a loss adjusting field. You have a deep understanding of all major classes of insurance.
  • Your dedicated ability to negotiate and influence whilst maintaining close, positive working relationships is outstanding.
  • With a highly analytical mind, you're comfortable when compiling reports, analysing findings and making valued recommendations. You're keen to make a difference and that clearly shows in your previous experience.
  • You are detail-oriented when working on a bid, but also can think strategically about our bid management strategy as a whole.
  • You understand the bid process from start to finish; including final design and delivery timeframes and pressures.
  • You command respect and transparency from colleagues at all levels by leading changes from the front. You set correct examples for your team to follow and aspire to.
  • You the commercial acumen to deliver on your own, but you enjoy working within a larger team.
  • You believe in project management training and mentoring less experienced members of the team.

IT Skills

  • Competence & strong capability in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Online Portals.
  • Awareness and knowledge of graphic design, e.g. styles,
