Position Summary:
The Regional Marketing Manager works closely with the field marketing leader, regional sales leadership (RSL) and branch leadership to create and manage a regional marketing strategy designed to support organic growth, client retention and client expansion efforts. The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a regional marketing strategy that leverages corporate/regional marketing resources and content while aligning with the priorities determined by regional leadership (Regional President and RSL) and meets the general needs of the branches located in the region. The focus for this role is not on creating content, rather on leveraging divisional resources while strategically supplementing content and applying it to targeted campaigns and marketing efforts to drive organic growth.

The Regional Marketing Manager will provide strategies and oversight of key marketing activities and programs, including regional/divisional campaigns, events/seminars, association marketing, sponsorship, advertising, public relations and social media, to name a few. The Regional Marketing Manager will work closely with identified regional marketing project managers to support the development and implementation of specific branch marketing plans as needed, providing coaching and guidance and serving as a first point of contact for regional marketing needs.

To be successful in this role, you will bring enthusiasm and creative ideas for B2B marketing strategies, while supporting corporate, divisional and regional initiatives. Being a strong, service-oriented relationship builder and strategic thinker will be critical. Strong organizational and project management skills, coupled with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are required. The ability to thoughtfully assess marketing requests and confidently serve as the approver for region/branch-level marketing activities, ensuring alignment with corporate and divisional marketing policies/guidelines, is important. The person in this role should be a marketing generalist with a proven ability to effectively align marketing strategy to sales strategy. This position will afford the opportunity to collaborate across the divisional marketing team, practice area leaders, niche leaders, and other subject matter experts.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Develop a regional marketing strategy and drive branch-level marketing planning as needed; provide oversight for branch marketing plan implementation working closely with identified regional marketing project manager(s)
  • Actively participate in the annual sales and marketing planning process, aligning the regional marketing plan with the regional sales plan and growth priorities
  • Oversee the regional marketing budget, providing coaching and guidance to branches during the annual planning process and throughout the year when assessing marketing spend
  • Oversee regional sponsorship requests and the approval process; if approved, manage the implementation of sponsorship opportunities including Gallagher brand presence and leveraging any tickets, etc.
  • Establish relationships with regional leadership and branch leadership, creating clarity around marketing role expectations and how to best work together when it comes to successfully implementing the regional/branch marketing plan
  • Establish strong working relationship with regional sales leadership, regularly connecting to ensure alignment between regional marketing and sales strategy; this role should be an active participant in the regional leadership team meetings
  • Responsible for regional marketing campaign strategy/design and supporting participation in divisional campaigns (such as NBS, Insights, and BIC)
  • Serve as first point of contact for all regional marketing-related questions and concerns before involving the field marketing lead and other divisional or corporate teams; act as a gatekeeper and ambassador in alignment with corporate/divisional marketing rules, guidelines and policies
  • Provide coaching and guidance for all PR and media-related inquiries or initiatives; this role is the gatekeeper to determining whether or not we participate in select, local PR opportunities and will bring in the field marketing lead and corporate/divisional resources as needed
  • Direct creative brief development with regional marketing project manager(s)
  • Ensure our Gallagher brand is consistent and regional marketing project manager(s) understand their role in supporting the brand; ensure our brand is integrated appropriately throughout all collateral and local/regional initiatives (seminars, events, association content, etc.)
  • Oversee the tracking and measurement of regional marketing efforts in driving growth and making recommendations to adjust strategies for improved ROI
  • Serve as the final reviewer, editor and proofer for any regionally-created content
  • Review/approve all regional marketing requests to the ART department
  • Promote cross-marketing opportunities - encourage greater learning, communication and sharing of ideas across the Gallagher marketing community; this may include hosting regional marketing workgroups as well as actively participating in divisional marketing workgroups
  • Serve as the primary contact for regional merger partner marketing on-boarding
  • Support the divisional marketing team as needed and in particular, with the development of common programs and initiatives including our core thought-leadership content
  • Effectively coach and mentor regional marketing project managers and other regional marketing team members as asked; this may include direct reporting responsibilities and management of team members
  • Other duties as assigned by corporate/divisional marketing
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.  
  • 7+ years related experience required in insurance sales and management.
  • Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills.
  • Ability/willingness to travel up to 25%.


  • Proven record of successful client management/relationship building

  • Experience executing marketing projects that resulted in increased brand visibility and sales leads
  • Experience gathering details on market dynamics, client needs and technology, and leveraging this knowledge to create compelling and effective marketing strategies
  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience managing integrated digital and traditional marketing campaigns, including paid, earned and owned media channels
  • Experience managing market research projects
  • Experience creating marketing scorecards, dashboards or other relevant reports

  • Leadership and personnel management experience a plus
