Position Summary:



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the organization meets all of its internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Employee acts as a liaison to internal and external auditors, and coordinates audit activities with the IT community.
  • Incumbent and staff will complete activities associated with audits, risk management, assessments and business continuity plans.
  • Incumbent monitors and documents compliance with IT policies and procedures, recommending updates where appropriate.
  • Coordinates SOX and other risk self-assessments, identifying and reporting on key risks (operational, data/information, financial, customer, etc.).
  • Ensures business continuity plans are up to date and adequately address known and likely emergencies.
  • Works with IT, Audit, Finance, Legal and other business leaders to improve processes and procedures in order to improve compliance.
  • Monitors progress of completing risk mitigation strategies, ensuring that targets are met or appropriate extensions are granted.
  • Coordinates the work effort of others to complete key compliance activities, and ensures those activates are completed in a timely manner.
  • May provides direction to an off-shore compliance team on a wide range of IT compliance functions.
  • May work with external accounting and/or consulting firms to understand and improve compliance requirements.


  • Bachelors degree or four year technical degree or equivalent business experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years IT experience within a large IT infrastructure.

  • Prior Experience addressing regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GLB).

  • Experience with information security standards, frameworks and best practices.

  • Experience and involvement in an audit process.


  • Prior IT management experience highly preferred.

    Ability to collaborate effectively with IT staff at many levels and from different organizations, and lead ad hoc teams as necessary.

  • Must be willing to execute Gallagher's Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement, which require, among other things, post-employment obligations relating to non-solicitation, confidentiality and non-disclosure
