Position Summary:


As a member of Gallagher’s  corporate tax team, the International Tax Manager is responsible for working on a variety of international tax work streams, including transfer pricing, FATCA and non-resident withholding and information reporting, IRS examinations, compliance review, reporting for foreign acquisitions and some review of foreign and US international aspects of tax accounting.  This role will provide opportunities to strengthen international tax skills through analyzing the impact of new international tax provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on various external and internal transactions, researching various U.S. and international tax matters, and involvement with outbound structuring.   


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with implementation of transfer pricing methodologies and maintenance of TP policies, including
    • cost center analysis
    • business unit allocations
    • inter-company invoicing processes and review
    • coordinating centralized internal review of TP documentation
    • coordination of functional analysis updates, including business unit interviews where necessary
    • compilation of CbCR analysis and reporting
    • identification of potential exposure areas
    • developing and maintaining an inventory of inter-company agreements and transactions, including drafting updates/amendments to such agreements for legal review as necessary
  • Assist with data analysis and modeling of the impact of transactions under tax reform provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (GILTI, FDII, BEAT), including updates and improvements to work papers reflecting new law in a reviewer-friendly format
  • Participate in foreign acquisition planning and reporting processes, including funding and due diligence, preparation of various elections, statements and analysis and documentation of E&P implications
  • Manage FATCA and non-resident withholding tax matters, including compliance (Forms 1042 and W8 validation where appropriate) and improvements to withholding and information reporting policies, procedures, and systems
  • Assist with analysis to develop and implement international tax planning strategies, including drafting PowerPoint decks setting out steps, multi-functional issues & conclusions and co-developing step plans to carry out implementation
  • Prepare and/or review responses to IRS requests related to foreign aspects of federal and foreign income tax examinations.
  • Assist with data preparation for, and review of, U.S. international information returns (Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 8883, 926)
  • Assist with review and prep of quarterly and annual foreign income tax provisions, including improving/automating processes, documentation and control processes.  Experience with foreign provisions, including true-ups, utilizing software such as OneSource, Corptax, etc. a plus.
  • Work with company secretarial resources to maintain tax-relevant legal entity chart
  • Work with Treasury and Accounting resources to maintain and oversee tax critical inter-company financing structures
  • Train staff and interns on key aspects of preparation associated with above responsibilities


Required:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years related experience; with the Big 4 or regional/national CPA firm or a corporate tax department, with some experience at the Manager level
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.  Advanced degree (Masters in Taxation) and Certified Public Accountant designation a plus.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and Powerpoint with a focus toward automated solutions and improved operational outcomes. OneSource software experience is a plus, in addition to general ledger platform experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues in a simplified manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to solve problems and work independently and/or in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
