Position Summary:

The Insurance Analytics Analyst will research and analyze data from multiple sources to answer questions about consumer trends, industry dynamics, and the effectiveness of our pricing and processes to help inform decision makes across business functions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Will help create a common statistical understanding of data, conduct data projects and analytical exercises, support ad-hoc data requests, and be involved in testing efforts to ensure data integrity

·        Strong organizational & analytical skills, high attention to detail.

·        Uses data sources and applications to do research and deliver analysis (Excel, SAS, SQL, R, and Power BI/Qlik)

·        Uses problem solving and analytical approaches to design and lead simple data analysis and develop recommendations

·        Presents analysis and recommendations to business partners

·        Identifies and resolves data issues

·        Performs and evaluates trend analysis (e. g. competitor analysis, risk management, financial)

·        Supports the partnership with finance and compliance to ensure externally reported data is accurate

·        Helps develop and support of data quality and validation guidelines

·        Helps implement processes to create of clean, reliable, and accurate customer and business data

·        Utilize data and analytics expertise to deliver high quality information solutions


·        Bachelor's Degree

·        5+ years of experience working with insurance data; understands relationships of premium, claims, and reinsurance data

o   Understands KPIs, contract, claim, and reinsurance data life cycles

·        5+ years of experience in data warehousing and/or business intelligence unit working with business and IT including various business delivery mechanisms (sourcing, cleaning, analyzing reports, dashboards, predictive modeling and presenting data)

·        Quantitative and analytical skills required

·        Experience using at least one programming language required (Excel, SQL) and one of (SAS, or R) is preferred

·        Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud is preferred

·        Experience using visualization tools including Microsoft Power BI / Qlik preferred


U.S. Eligibility Requirements:

·        18 years of age or older.

·        Willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation.

·        Willing to execute RPS’ Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement which requires, among other things, post-employment obligations relating to non-solicitation, confidentiality and non-disclosure.
