The Position
 

We are looking for registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Occupation Health Nurses to be part of a pilot team of Industry RTW Specialists.  In this role you will help to develop the knowledgebase of nominated industries which will be leveraged to deliver an early intervention and claims management services.  The purpose of this pilot is to support workers and employer to achieve timely and optimal recovery and return to work outcomes.

 

This role will focus on positively influencing and encouraging parties to participate in the return to work process and take ownership of actions.

 

Reporting to the Claims Practices Manager, responsibilities will include:

 
  • Deliver injury management, return to work and claims management services that drives early and safe return to work
  • Conduct a holistic and thorough assessment of the worker and employer’s situation, barriers and opportunities.
  • Educate and inform stakeholders on the return to work process, legislative requirements, premium impact, initial claims decisions while promoting the health benefits of safe work.
  • Coordinate and lead worksite meetings with workers and employers to identify suitable duties for the purpose of establishing a RTW plan.
  • Where worksite barriers are identified, provide on-the-spot advice, approval and education to resolve or procure tailored services that resolve these barriers.
  • Proactively engage and partner with the treating team to drive the worker’s capacity for work in line with the worker’s progress, recovery timeframes and suitable duties.
  • Deliver timely decisions and approvals that are within the legislative requirements and delegations.
  • Contribute to the development of an industry knowledgebase that is utilised by the pilot team to deliver early intervention and timely return to work outcomes
  • Establish strong employer relationships through tailored and specialised customer service.
  • Actively participate in post-implementation activities to build the collective knowledge gained through the pilot.
  • Actively participate or facilitate qualitative and quantitative research to inform the progress and impact of the pilot.
  • Leverage from and apply developed industry knowledge to continuously improve the customer experience and return to work outcomes for workers and employers.

The Person
 

To be considered for this position, you will hold a valid Australian drivers’ licence, have prior experience within a clinical role, or within an injury management field, have sound working knowledge and understanding of work injury insurance. You will need experience in assessing and resolving barrier to driver early resumption of activity along with experience in educating workers and employers in the health benefits of safe work.

 

We are looking for someone with the ability to build trust, engage, influence and negotiate with a broad range of customers, such as workers, employers, treating providers, legal representatives and unions.  You will need to have strong conflict resolution skills and ability to make decisions within technical frameworks.

 

It is essential that you be registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Occupational Health Nurse.
