Gallagher Re is looking for a Graduate Data Handler to join our REACH Programme in our London office, working on the Marine and Energy Broking team. As a Data Handler, you will be responsible for developing tools that support Gallagher Re’s data capture, market benchmarking and placement analysis abilities.

Your Role
•    Collect placement and market information
•    To investigate opportunities to extract data from non-standard sources (e.g. external, unstructured) as required in order to enhance portfolio
•    Build and maintain a core placement, analytics and market information data set
•    Recommend ways to improve data efficiency and reliability
•    Find opportunities to use data science/engineering techniques to extract value from internal/external data assets in order to enrich analytical capabilities
•    Present data analytics in forms to brokers and clients that are modern and insightful
•    Generate bespoke outputs for client requirements or market analytics purposes, provide ad hoc support to users with data questions



Your Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
•    Experience using languages such as Python and SQL to analyse datasets
•    Experience building dashboards in a modern BI tool such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau
•    Minimum Bachelor's Degree in an analytical subject including Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Science or Natural Perils
•    Experience in London/global insurance markets with knowledge about (re)insurance business (Not Mandatory but desirable)
•    Pro-active, self-motivated and able to use own initiative
•    Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
•    Excellent analytical and technical skills
•    Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
•    Ability to offer balanced opinion regarding existing and future technologies
