Position Summary 

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures.
  • Anticipates and provides solutions to most complex finance and accounting problems. 
  • Responsibilities are to produce timely, accurate and reliable financial information. 
  • This will include preparation of the profit & loss and balance sheet accounts as well as group consolidations. 
  • Other responsibilities may include the preparation and posting of general ledger journals, posting of accruals and prepayments, reconciliation of intercompany accounts, reconciliation of profit & loss and balance sheet accounts, managing & controlling the fixed asset register, capital expenditure controls & reporting, production of the monthly consolidation reporting pack, statutory accounts production, corporation tax computations (in conjunction with tax function) and / or cost center reporting and analysis. 
  • Manages senior staff and accounting functions, as well as group consolidations.
          

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desired:

  • Master's degree and public accounting experience or CPA preferred.

Additional Considerations:

  • Director level position, reporting to VP of Finance Projects, as an individual contributor with no direct reports
  • One of your primary responsibilities will be to manage our Revenue system and to work with GB’s IT department on continued development work, with emphasis on meeting new Revenue Recognition standards
  • This is a “doer” position, with opportunities to dive into details of our financial, accounting, banking and payment systems/ processes and help improve their performance
  • Act as business lead for multiple finance technology projects
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, think out of the box to find creative solutions, and communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • As part of our team, you will support GB’s Salesforce, CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote), Revenue, service fee billing, invoicing, receivables, and banking & payments systems
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for improvements, coordinate and oversee system upgrades and implementations
  • Work across multiple organizational levels and boundaries, developing relationships with key stakeholders and user groups across our organization
  • Depending on size of project, work as part of a project team (of 2-20 based on scope of work) with Executive Sponsor, Project Manager, IT Business Analyst, Subject Matter Experts, Developers, Architecture, and Testing
  • Document and evaluate current business processes, define scope, gather requirements, define timeline and budgets, guide solutions design/ development/ testing, migrate legacy-system data, support implementation, train users, and create documentation
  • Assist business stakeholders in envisioning the future and how their work will need to change to support our growing, changing organization
  • 10+ years Finance/ accounting background preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT (or similar business role) as business analyst preferred
  • Excellent understanding of Sales and Finance business processes and methodologies
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and data and visual modelling tools preferred
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
