The Finance Director reporting to the SVP Finance GGB Canada, serves as the primary interface between finance and the Western Region; with a focus on providing insightful analysis on financial, commercial and operational performance of the business, making recommendations and where necessary providing support throughout the business to help implementation. The role will coordinate the group's planning and budgeting processes, and will interact with all levels of the organization, including Senior Management.


How You Will Affect the Business


  • Annual Regional budget preparation

  • Monthly detailed financial analysis including variances to plan

  • Monthly Analysis of key sales & operational metrics including leading indicator metrics

  • Prepare periodic sales commission, employee bonus and compensation

  • Monthly Producer compensation review including calculation of all applicable commission adjustments pursuant to Producer contracts

  • M&A analysis, due diligence and integration

  • Planning, directing and coordinating accounting operational functions; invoice review and approval, managing the collections & G/L coding

  • Participate in the month end close process by supporting the collection and assembling of financial data while ensuring the completeness, existence and accuracy of data

  • Perform the analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for revenue and operating expenses

  • Provide analysis and additional reporting in a timely manner to all queries from partners, including Senior Leadership, Area Presidents, Producers

  • Assist in preparing internal reporting packages for stakeholders

  • Other duties as required

Education & Experience


  • A College or University degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • CPA designation active and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working experience with Cognos, OneSource and/or JD Edwards favored.
