External Reporting Manager  (Texas)


Overall Description:

The Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring timely, concise, and accurate reporting to internal and external entities. Reporting Manager must be able to work with various departments to ensure understanding of reporting needs and create reports that are complete and meaningful.


The Reporting Manager will report to Executive Vice President of MGA. Co-workers will include actuary and New Business Manager.


Essential Functions:

 

  1. Provide consistent weekly/ monthly/ quarterly reports to carriers/ reinsurers/ and other external entities. Reports include but are not limited to carrier monthly data report, FRVP, TICO, Claims Counts, PPA quote share, and monthly board slides

  2. Lead any data requests received from external entities. Be able to work with actuary and new business manager to complete requests and ensure timely delivery

  3. Be a point of contact for any audits with external entities

  4. Responsible for consistently presenting a professional and respectable demeanor to all external entities

  5. Create and update monthly reports for various departments to facilitate their reporting needs

  6. Promotes an environment of excellence and accountability within the firm by improving operational efficiencies

  7. Support business development efforts and insure proper communication and coordination between various groups

  8. Regularly meet with system programmers to coordinate any changes needed to the software system to comply with regulation, improve efficiency, or to address any inaccuracies within the system

  9. Regularly reviews current technology to automate various parts of organization reporting

  10. Ensures compliance with corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements

  11. Work with actuary and internal entities on rate comparisons and rate filings

  12. Lead and coordinate any internal projects assigned.



Requirements:


  • 2+ years experience with insurance reporting

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of GA system and data analytics software (tableau)

  • High proficiency in excel and data manipulation software

  • Good communication skills and the ability to condense and present information in meaningful format

  • Self- motivated with an ability to independently formulate solutions and employ and examine all resources available to implement solutions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to gain the confidence, respect, and trust of senior executives, clients, and colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and follow-through on projects to completion.

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and strong problem solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate internally as well as externally with remote locations, external partners and clients, and vendors.

  • Must demonstrate professional and ethical business practices, adherence to company standards, and a commitment to personal and professional development.
