To act as a Digital Projects Manager in the best interests of the company. To support the profit and growth aspirations of Arthur J Gallagher International by working with the business development team to deliver  a range of digital strategies, initiatives, plans and activity that meet business goals and objectives. To act as a high performing, motivated individual that fully contributes to the team, wins over stakeholders and gains excellent results.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide expert consultancy to divisional teams on digital projects of all types;

  • Shape and champion digital excellence across Alesco, leading in digital innovation and future thinking and challenge the teams on their existing strategies and ways of working;

  • Define, develop and maintain Alesco digital best practice tools, frameworks and processes for both internal and external digital strategies;

  • Liaise with IT department to ensure the Group digital and IT strategies are aligned and work tactically on projects as required;

  • Provide support on industry and market knowledge, focused on technology and platforms, in particular provide consultancy, best practise and helping with vendors;

  • Selection of new technologies and tools and subsequent vendor management with operations directors to support product development across Alesco;

  • Under the guidance of the Business Development Director and the Marketing Director, to develop and own Alesco-wide digital vision and strategy across customer touch points;

  • Plan and execute any digital activity that underpins sales campaigning, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns, surveys, campaign landing pages, digital assets and others as appropriate;

  • Provide consultative advice on how to improve lead generation performance from digital activities to ensure activities translate into new business enquiries.

  • Ownership of analytics to develop report and insight to drive digital performance, Running quantitative and qualitative research on client’s customers to understand why they do or don't convert, analysing and evaluating A/B tests, reporting on results and recommending next steps.

  • Supporting the business with broader projects regarding data, such as insurer market data, enquiries data and finding ways to integrate these projects to enhance the business development team’s capabilities.

  • Ownership of a suite of central technologies and tools that includes:

  • Strong familiarity and experience creating and updating content within web-based content management systems (Sitecore, Adobe, etc.).

  • A core understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript development and constraints.

  • Deep working knowledge of online marketing analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

  • Experience with site search, tag management, testing and personalization tools (e.g., Swiftype, Tealium, Demandbase, Optimizely).

  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation systems like Salesforce and Marketo or Eloqua.

  • SEO/SEM understanding
  • Social Media marketing and brand building familiarity
  • Develop an understanding of Acturis, Global XB, Smart Market, Epic and other internal Gallagher data systems utilized across Alesco so we can better co-ordinate digital strategy both for data management, product development and new business campaigns.

  • Procurement and management of domain names through IT and US central domain management;

  • Liaise with Compliance to ensure FinProms and online buying models regulation and sanctions checking;

Person Requirements:




Degree or Diploma in Marketing/ Digital Marketing or equivalent, essential


Technical Knowledge


  • Knowledge and working competency in Google AdWords, Google Analytics and Social Media tools (Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Radian 6 or Virtue or similar) are essential.

  • Knowledge and working competency of HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge and working competency in file transfer protocol (FTP) such as FileZilla, Cyberduck, transmit or similar.

  • Knowledge and working competency of CRMs such as Wordpress, Drupal or similar.

  • Knowledge of presentation/key note tools such as Prezi, Slide Rocket or similar is preferable.




  • Substantial experience working within the financial services sector, preferably insurance (either insurance brokers or insurers) within a digital role

  • Ability to demonstrate management experience of developing and owning strategy for digital projects across a number of teams, or products, or industries.

  • Experience of B2B marketing and sales, including tactical digital, UX, digital content management.

  • Demonstrable experience of formal project management styles such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and associated PM tools.

  • Some experience of writing/proofing copy for digital.
  • Knowledge or modern technologies and emerging platforms – a genuine interest in where digital marketing is going and how our business could utilize these trends.


  • Working and managing multiple projects simultaneously and understanding how to prioritise and deprioritise projects and manage stakeholders accordingly.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines in a busy and evolving environment, whilst delivering a highly professional service and attitude;

  • Excellent project management, attention to detail and organizational skills;

  • Confident, resourceful and an exceptional decision maker;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels;

  • High degree of organisational and planning capability on a strategic/group level;

  • Leadership which drives a high performance motivated culture;
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities;
  • Good level of empathy and engagement with senior stakeholders;
  • Strong awareness of ethics and integrity in customer focussed environments;
  • MS office, Adobe CC and relevant digital technologies and tools expertise.
