Position Summary
 

Maintain productive relationships with all business areas of the practice by assisting in data collection and data validation to support the total compensation databases. Develop and grow standardizing and optimization tools. Provide analytical support and complete special research projects for the consulting team while reinforcing quality standards of the databases and surveys. 

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Emphasis in mathematics, statistics or IT preferred. 
  • One or more years of experience in an analytical/statistical position preferred.
  •  Programming experience including VBA and SQL preferred

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND CRITICAL TRAITS  

 

  • Highly developed analytical skills, including a high degree of accuracy in calculations and manipulation of numeric data.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency and knowledge of Access and Excel.
  • Intermediate programming experience with VBA and SQL.
  • Excellent organizational and pattern recognition skills along with the ability to work independently, manage time and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Clear, concise, professional written and oral communications.
  • Ability to aggregate and transform data to meet the needs of efficient data analysis.

 

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY


I.    Technical Expertise

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of healthcare organization structures and compensation practices:
  • Salary administration practices, and survey benchmark jobs.
  • Short and long-term incentive plan structure and typical parameters.
  • Typical employee benefits including:  health, life, disability, retirement, vacation, severance, and perquisites.  
  • Other compensation:  retention incentives, sign on bonuses, etc
  • Demonstrates the ability to manipulate large datasets 
  • Maintain and enhance macro tools used for maintaining quality and productivity standards. Demonstrates a strong understanding of basic coding principles (particularly in VBA and SQL)


II.    Database Management

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth familiarity with the total compensation database and any databases selected for future use. 
  • Schedules regular updates to organizational and executive data from various, relevant sources (e.g. internal projects, subscribed external databases, reporting organizations, etc)
  • Ensures data integrity by performing quality checks and implementing standards on a scheduled and/or ongoing basis as needed by the practice.
  • Assist in identifying, communicating, testing, and implementing database modifications/updates.
  • Support efforts of survey group to ensure high quality data by tracking data submitted via surveys and evaluating quality of submission to internal sources. Validate or replace discrepancies before added to database.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance the Form 990 database and tool used by consultants
  • Develops ownership of the database and holding its contents to a high standard of accuracy and relevance. 


III.    Analysis and Special Research Projects

  • Use available resources to enhance consulting capabilities 
  • (proprietary database, PowerBI, Zoominfo, Definitive, etc.)
  • Facilitate consultant’s analysis of data by providing customized queries from the database and provide a high-level understanding of trends seen through various projects funneled to the database.
  • Assist the team with special projects as assigned to enhance consulting standards, marketing efforts, white paper research, etc.
  • Demonstrate commitment to accuracy and consistency in providing requested data 

 


IV.    Project Management/Communication

  • Exercise good judgment, completing work in a timely manner.  Juggle projects to meet multiple deadlines in an efficient manner.  Notify others when deadlines cannot be met.
  • Communicate analytical conclusions clearly and logically.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required.  
  • Must possess advanced technical skills in Excel, including ability to model expected results.
