Our Finance team are looking for a Credit Controller to join them in making a difference to how we provide and continue to support the wider group.

Do you have confidence when discussing late payments? Are you able to put your point across clearly and concisely? You have a primary focus within this role, it's to collect any monies owed to our business. This will need to be handled in a sensitive manner and with the skills required.

This role is focussed on working with our Account Handlers and Executives to assist with queries and collection of out-standing monies owed. This means we need someone with clear focus, a desire to get the details right first time and a passion for process.

Job Purpose  

  • This role within the Credit Control Finance team is responsible for proactive and efficient income reconciliation, ensuring that debtors are monitored and collected within specified parameters. This will entail the allocation of cash receipts on a daily basis; monitor/chase debt either with manager or client; and income reporting/other related tasks.
  • Provide a professional high quality administration service to all clients, colleagues and other third parties
 
  • Key Accountabilities / Deliverables
  • Allocate cash receipts according to relevant commission statements/fee remittances. Match them through the Adviser Office database keeping unallocated cash to a minimum. Deal with queries accordingly.
  • To ensure that all outstanding debt is collected in a timely manner within agreed time frames.
  • Maximise cash flow and minimise bad debt.
  • Proactively chasing aged and current debt by telephone and email to ensure collection targets are met.
  • Manage and resolve any invoice/commission disputes or queries to improve customer service and minimise outstanding debt.
  • Undertake month end processes/procedures and reporting.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and to quality standards, and maintain concise and accurate paper and computer records to ensure accurate management reporting. 
  • Develop internal relationships to assist in providing an efficient service to all areas and manage their expectations on work being undertaken.
  • Liaise with colleagues, other departments, clients and product providers to ensure that requirements of the business and agreed deadlines are met.
  • Carry out additional related reporting and tasks, as requested line management.
  • Carry out duties within our internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulation, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business.
  • Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.

Qualifications

•             Good standard of general education including Maths and English

Technical knowledge and understanding 

  • Analytical, highly numerical and methodical with high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience of data and system analysis including the generation of reports
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
