Corporate Counsel
Qualifications
- J.D. Degree with proven academic success. Must be licensed in Illinois.
- A minimum of 4 years relevant commercial generalist experience, including hands on experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating and interpreting a variety of agreements. Law firm experience followed by in-house experience is desirable, as is insurance industry experience.
- Prior experience heading a contracts function, including the management of other professionals and working with contract management systems. Evaluation and implementation of legal process outsourcing is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced critical thinking and analytical ability.
- Ability to understand and integrate details of the business to ensure new and existing business relationships are workable across functions.
- Outstanding client management skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust with senior management and other professionals at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the expertise to drive change and to successfully interface with people at all levels, by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and personal style.
- A dedication and commitment to practicing law in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
