Role Overview

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Client Manager will provide technical and administrative support to the Commercial team. The role interacts with clients, insurance companies, and internal staff members. The role supports Client Executives, in a team based environment along with the Client Associates, to ensure that our clients receive efficient, high quality service.


How You Will Affect the Business

  • Working alongside colleagues in the Commercial Department to take the lead in client service for the portfolio. You will work closely with colleagues on a wide variety of client accounts.
  • Accurate and timely delivery of renewals, taking the necessary steps in placing coverage required by the client, re-marketing when required, adhering to binding authority set out by carriers.
  • Preparing underwriting submissions for marketing purposes, negotiating coverage terms and conditions with insurers and helping to manage claims.
  • Managing daily administration including client and insurer correspondence, policy wording reviews, issuance of policies, binders, certificates and invoicing.
  • Provide marketing support to new business production and renewals when required; negotiate with underwriters.
  • Participate in large account or stewardship reviews.
  • Attend new and existing client meetings that are of a strategic nature and adding new products or services are discussed as appropriate.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities, driving the creation of quality leads, working with Account Executives in binding the client.
  • Support new business development through assistance in preparation of RFPs, sales presentations, reports and other “pitch” documents as the need arises.
  • Acting to keep current with insurance markets and changing coverages within the industry, including participating in insurer networking events.

Education and Experience

  • Secondary School Diploma required, College or University Degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of Commercial Insurance Brokering experience required.
  • Experience with specialized insurance product(s) or industry segment(s) an asset.
  • Active and in good standing RIBO License required.
  • CAIB, CIP, CRM or other relevant certifications/designations highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPIC considered an asset.


Location: This is a role that could be based out of any Gallagher office in Canada!
