Position Summary:
 
The Client Counsel Senior provides expertise related to a wide range of legal advisory functions.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

This position provides management guidance to supervisors and staff functioning. Management responsibilities for function and team: demonstrates a broad knowledge of staff and line roles, business systems and information technology. Independently and proactively manages the property/casualty claims programs for assigned clients. Monitors larger and most complex claims (over $100,000) , demonstrating the ability to manage and communicate complex claims issues for key accounts. Attends and facilitates client meetings, claim reviews and vendor visits; reviews claim status, action plans, and reserves using advanced problem resolution skills. Negotiates for changes in reserves for a positive client outcome. Provides status reports to clients and keeps Account Executive and Claims Manager informed. Advocates, consults and provides coverage advice to clients as appropriate. Actively researches and obtains claims data from claim carriers and challenge adjusters as warranted while advocating the best possible outcome for clients in accordance with service standards. Serves as liasion for claims activities between third-party administrator or carrier personnel and client. For those responsible for Wokers Compensation, additional duties include: Serves as an Employer Advocate for workers' compensation issues and ensure carrier decisions are made in client's best interest. Conducts reviews of workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator or carrier and client. My perform experience modification projections, review bureau worksheets and provide analysis on increases and assist in strategies to reduce experience modification. Identifies claims with subrogation and joint coverage and confirm that they are properly coded on the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB) bureau sheets for potential reduction in experience modification. Assists with audit of claims files and provide recommendations for improvement. Assists with workers' compensation portion of Request for Proposals for prosepctive clients.

 

Additional Considerations:

 
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 or more years related professional experience.

Desired:

  • Juris Doctor degree.
