We're seeking a Business Systems Analyst to working with the Gallagher Retail COO division and broader business to identify, support and deliver system operational improvements in line with strategic objectives, ensuring an enterprise wide view at all times.
 

The Business Systems Team is responsible for ensuring the business makes best use of and gain a competitive advantage from the business applications. Ensure the business are prepared for system change and/or the introduction of new functionality.
 

Your Role:

 

  • High level requirements definition, comparing the current state with the potential future state (as is vs to be). Includes process modelling and using detailed knowledge of existing systems to propose new solutions. 
    Collecting, understanding and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans. 
  • Work with specialist testers, or in exceptional circumstances, autonomously, to ensure that captured requirements are testable and able to be traced from detailed test cases. 
  • Day to day – provide knowledge of existing processes, functions and expert knowledge of existing systems to provide solutions as required. 
  • Working closely with steering committees and individuals to understand the business requirements around existing and proposed processes and systems, developing effective working relationships and on-going management processes for projects.
  • Understand the on-going pipeline of changes and maintain a backlog of items prioritised by the business/product owner. Work with third party and internal suppliers to understand relative complexity, effort, third party delivery schedule and cost to feed into the prioritization process. 
  • Help to define the deliverables, resource requirements, work plan for projects and manage their delivery.
  • Maintain close links with business partners and third party providers to understand developments and enhancements in their product sets as well as to commission work and understand and communicate progress
  • To provide the link between the customer, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development cycle 
  • To design the user stories for all Digital changes and work closely with the test team to help shape test scenarios and test scripts

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or related  degree
  • Prince2 or similar project management qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years in similar role supporting Acturis
  • Acturis simple document template configuration
  • Complex document build process
  • Acturis product builds
  • To solicit, understand and accurately record requirements during the development cycle
  • Ability to discuss requirements or articulate solution in a way the business can understand easily
  • Strong time and task management capability
  • Able to travel UK wide including occasional overnight stays
