We are searching for someone to inspire a business unit to change the way it works and deliver real results whilst avoiding risk. Are you from an operations or process background? You'll be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of standard methodologies, techniques and regulations?

We are seeking  Business Operations Manager to develop and lead operational improvement activities for our UK Retail business.

You will ensure the effective delivery of our operating platform. You will embed an effective risk culture within your team. You will champion the things we value, our behaviours and conduct.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain your divisions' standards and procedures by conducting measured quality control activities.

  • You monitor service level agreements and critical metrics. You have ownership of operational reporting and production and sharing of management information for the wider group.

  • You will help to identify risk, assessing and handling that risk and raising further if needed.

  • You will work with Group Compliance and other areas to ensure a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and how such requirements will impact on Retail’s processes and procedures.

  • You take the lead in the delivery of operational improvement projects. Maintain and own all key process control checklists and templates. Oversee and monitor mandatory training requirements.

  • Your honest nature and clear integrity allow you to follow internal policies in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulation. You focus on good governance and Gallagher’s shared values and put your clients at the heart of our business.

  • You take all reasonable steps to ensure the business you are accountable for aligns with the statement above. If shortcomings are identified, you take responsibility for talking to the relevant experts within the firm.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Are you educated to Degree level? If not but you have sufficient practical experience in operations teams, compliance or risk management, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Your career experience in risk management & regulatory exposure within insurance, broking or underwriting environments will be highly inspirational to the teams that you lead.

  • Your deep knowledge of Insurance or  broking environment will help you to modify effective, condensed operational changes quickly.

  • We are looking for you to have calculated financial, quantitative and analytical skills, your ability to debate and influence at all levels whilst working in a fast-paced environment. You're an expert who will guide and develop those around you, enlist team members assistance where necessary.

  • You have strong interpersonal skills, engaging presentation abilities and your problem-solving mind-set would suit this role.

  • Can you develop creative approaches and solutions using a diligent approach remaining highly motivated and results focused?
