About the role


The primary purpose of this role is to cultivate and drive new business opportunities and retention programs for the four Workplace Risk Divisions: Safety, Workers Compensation, Employee Risk Solutions (Accident & Health) and Training and Education


The role will see 80% of time devoted to Gallagher Southern Region growth and 20% to Employee Risk Solutions and Training & Education.

It will be expected that the individual will conduct themselves in accordance with our Workplace Risk key values of integrity, professionalism, teamwork, resilience, and innovation along with being people / client focused. 


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Proactively unearth and drive new business opportunities and conversion to facilitate revenue growth

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of emerging issues in each jurisdiction and market moves to identify and develop a pipeline of potential customers aligned with Gallagher Workplace Risk strategic and operational priorities

  • Working with relevant PL’s and education leaders, facilitation, construction and execution of a general CVP and tailored CVP’s for large new business opportunities

  • Manage and report on National Pipeliner tool to the Head of Workplace Risk on a bi- monthly basis

  • Actively contribute to Gallagher Victoria Sales meetings to contribute to national success for the Gallagher Workplace Risk teams 

  • Facilitate the utilisation of strategic partner funding towards identified programs that deliver fee for service revenue to assist client engagement for growth

  • Manage the transition of a customer from solution proposition to operational excellence, linking in with nominated consultant for completion of opportunity conversion

  • Promote Gallagher Workplace Risk externally and internally across the business and national general insurance BD team

  • Lead tender responses for Gallagher Workplace Risk, including the project management of technical responses that this role will request from the relevant team technical expert. 

  • Develop Network/partnership opportunities


About you


In order to be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: 


  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the Workplace Risk service offerings across the four disciplines

  • Industry experience in one or more of the WPR core offerings, along with strong external experience in similar role, including BD and or Account Management

  • Experience in sales in both cold warm and hot lead environments 

  • Ability to follow a sales process through the funnel activities; identify, approach, propose, present, handle objections, close

  • Excellent analytical and planning skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Engaging, adaptable and interactive presentation skills

  • Strong stakeholder leadership and management skills, both internally and externally

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of team.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
