Can you use your problem solving skills and quick thinking to fix issues as they arise? We're looking for an Application Specialist to join a growing team in an open and friendly office.

Working for a fast paced employee benefits firm, you'll be critical in ensuring our external digital applications run smoothly and without incident. It's a role that involves your expertise and customer management skills.

You'll maintain our client facing applications, develop and support them to keep our world-class operation functioning. We'll need you to invent and build dynamic methods to fix problems. Yours is a fast paced role that needs your dedicated and clever approach to problem solving.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • You identify and resolve issues with our applications. You follow agreed procedures, you can establish root cause and then resolve operational incidents.
  • Part of your role will be to carry out routine maintenance of the applications. You will also manage application enhancements to improve business performance.
  • You'll need good communication skills to liaise with software suppliers, mainly for system enhancements or to overcome problems.
  • You contribute by recommending improvements in automated and non-automated components. You'll also work closely with the business to understand their needs for new or amended systems.
  • We do ask that you build meaningful relationships with third party providers. This will help you to understand developments and enhancements in their product sets; as well as to commission work and understand and communicate progress.
  • You have an ongoing awareness of Service Desk issues in order to drive dedicated solution provisioning and propose application improvements or updates.
  • Design, build and execute test scenarios based on client requirements and ensure application is in an impeccable state for the client to test.
  • Handle highly confidential client data and be responsible for ensuring that the data is reflected with complete accuracy on our digital platforms.

What do we need from you?

At minimum, we would like you to ideally have a bachelor's degree or validated experience in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.

  • We would love for you to demonstrate your deep knowledge in recording and solving application support issues. Show us how you prioritise requests, implement and communicate with customers and get the right results.
  • You take pride in your ability to explain technical information to non-technical people, you're also keen to build strong relationships with your customers.
  • Your excellent organisation skills, love of tight deadlines and passion to handle various tasks makes you so valuable to your team. As an ambitious self starter, we'll support your drive and thirst for development.
  • At times, it will be busy and challenging, you will need to focus on solving problems and developing workable solutions as a priority. Your clear focus is to take care of our applications and business.
  • You have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work, especially when handling client data.
  • Able to deal with change in a positive way and embrace the challenge it brings. Knowing that you will make a difference is key.
