The Premium Insurance Analyst II reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor within the Gallagher Global Division (GGB).  The Analyst II role is a driven subject matter expert that manages agency bill premium to insurance markets, commission payments to brokers, return premiums to client, market relations, and other accounting functions.  This analyst position identifies trends in data and recommends business processes for internal improvement.  Partner with the offshore to ensure daily departmental transactions are action and resolve timely. Primary Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with insurance markets, internal and external clients to drive resolution on issues triggering a negative impact on operational processes.

·         Analyze premium history to identify variances; focus on expedient resolution of premium discrepancies, obtain documentation from insurance markets in order to achieve three-way-match status.

·         Monitor outstanding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as a guide to proactively work premium transaction to prevent aging items.

·         Ability to critically think that leads to making solid decisions

·         Oversee the offshore team in timely collections of return premium from insurance markets to prevent bad reserve expense.

·         Evaluate and approve the accuracy of offshore and onshore premium disbursements.

·         Assist in performing regression testing when implementing system updates and/or new system.

·         Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and ability to clearly communicate instructions to onshore and offshore teams.

·         Become a subject matter expert of systems and ad hoc reporting.

·         Ensure the depart is intercompany compliant along with driving resolution

·         Design and document business processes and make appropriate suggestions that will positively impact operational effectiveness.

·         Analyze premium data trends to determine process improvement and identify market changes.

·         Assist in a number of key projects and be the subject matter expert on department processes.

·         Innovative individual with the ability to flourish in a fast-paced project environment.

·         Proficient in reconciling general ledger and client transactional detail.

·         Perform all duties in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate Financial Policy, BSD Policy and departmental Procedures 

·         Refine standard operating procedures and for new processes, thoroughly document end to end.

·         Complete pre-month-end and month-end processes, duties, exhibits and reports as assigned including but not limited to FPM required reports. 

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functions:

·         Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals. 

·         Maintain accounting support files. 

·         Support and implement process efficiencies. 

·         Participate in tasks as assigned for conversion, merger and acquisition integration as they relate to the accounts payable process.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Presentation
  • Minimum 2 year analyst or similar accounting process experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of insurance brokerage accounting experience.
  • Agency management system experience.
  • Occasional travel.
