The Position

In this role you will manage a team of Technical Training Specialists, you will be responsible for the team delivering a well-defined and consistent approach to improve the capability of claims management staff across the business.  As part of this role you will provide technical training across many delivery methods to operation roles including training of processes, platforms and systems in the operational environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Reporting to the National Technical Training Manager other key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage and actively develop the Technical Training Specialists to achieve and deliver the required outcomes for the business.

  • Design, develop and deliver claims technical training programs and assessments, aligned to the Gallagher Bassett proficiency framework and utilising contemporary L& D practices/principles.

  • In liaison with the relevant Team, Branch and Operations Managers, undertake a comprehensive training needs analysis to identify capability gaps for all roles and process to the required standard.

  • Develop necessary programs or coaching solutions to meet the needs of individual staff.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners to ensure we work in partnership to address training needs.

  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and any regulatory and legislative changes to ensure the delivery of relevant information to the Operations Teams.

  • Develop, implement and maintain “Proficiency Frameworks” aligned to different job roles to ensure competency levels are improved and/or met.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong leadership, relationship and influencing skills.  We are looking for someone with demonstrated success in designing, developing and facilitating technical training along with a proven contemporary L&D mindset and understanding.  You will need to have a high level of coaching and mentoring skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders.  You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, adaptive and work well autonomously.

Technical knowledge in general insurance claims management and/or workers compensation is desirable.
