The HRCC team is looking for a Billing Analyst to join their growing practice. The Billing Analyst will perform timely, accurate billing of clients in keeping with customized billing arrangements, and assist with financial accounting and administrative tasks.


Duties include:


Billing Coordination
  • Compile and organize all billing items; interpreting internal user needs and informing billing processes to ensure they are complete and in compliance with billing and revenue recognition policies and meet accounting standards.
  • Process consultant time/hours worked; determine and document completeness of submissions.
  • Review new project data for accuracy and completeness; specifically, confirm that find, sale, and referral fields are correct, ensure that signed agreements (if applicable) and retained fee sheets are approved and on file for all projects, and determine whether billing terms and Finds/Sells/Do’s are appropriate and manage any changes that must be made.
  • Process varied and non-standard transactions regularly and make decisions to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, bonus reports, general ledger coding, etc. Communicate and follow up with consultants to clarify special arrangements.
  • Produce invoices on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.  Performs self-review for compliance and revenue recognition accuracy and make any corrections before mailing.
  • Review unapplied cash and credits prior to each billing cycle to ensure that all are applied correctly before mailing invoices.
  • Make billing adjustments and corrections as needed and communicate to all involved parties in an appropriate manner.
  • Create a tracking mechanism for weekly time and expense submission by person on a weekly basis.
  • Answer client requests for information or invoice questions where appropriate.
  • Establish and communicate billing deadlines and report on delinquent time and expense receipts.
 
General Accounting Miscellaneous Duties
  • Assist with entry of miscellaneous cash receipts and other cash transactions into Great Plains.
  • When invoices or accounting correspondence is returned, research and make sure the data is rerouted to the correct place.
  • Assist as needed with collections process, including client account research and communication, collection calls and internal documentation.

Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Strong PC and Microsoft application skills. Excel expertise required (pivots, V-lookups, macros).
Desired:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • CPA, CMA or CFA designation also preferred. Access and Sequel experience preferred.
  • Experience working in insurance, particularly in a claims organization a plus.
  • Cognos and JD Edwards GL knowledge preferred.
