What is the role?

Gallagher's Katherine office is seeking a new senior insurance broker/senior account executive to join the team. This busy and varied role will see you managing your own significant portfolio of clients; taking a pro-active approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery. You will be responsible for driving business forward by generating new opportunities and managing your own portfolio. This could be an excellent opportunity to relocate from Darwin or other locations in the Northern Territory.

More specifically, you will be:


  • Maintaining and developing meaningful business relationships with new and existing clients by taking a pro-active approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery  
  • Describe insurable risk, design appropriate insurance solutions and negotiate and manage the best deal in the global insurance market
  • Developing and maintaining meaningful working relationships with our underwriting partners
  • Management and maintenance of budget, business plan and debtors 
  • Be sales orientated with the ability to build a long term pipeline to support New Business growth
  • Promote the Gallagher brand within the local business community, the region and nationally

What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role it is highly desirable you will be an experienced, tier 1 qualified insurance broking or banking and finance professional, with an exceptional client focus.  

In addition, you will have:
  • Minimum 5 years insurance, banking or finance experience
  • Have strong account management experience gained within general commercial insurance
  • Proven track record of delivering results both financial and operational
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualified  (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities 
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
  • A driven, passionate and professional disposition
