About the role


We are seeking an energetic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team to assist with month-end activities, delivery of financial reporting and financial compliance to ensure processes are handled effectively. 


This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in Finance with support and training.


The Assistant Accountant ensures that accurate financial results are provided to business stakeholders, specifically, this role will see you:


  • Provide accurate, timely month-end and close process including journal preparation

  • Reconcile balance sheets within business systems and according to deadlines

  • Reconcile debtors and creditors within the broking business

  • Assist with ensuring the Finance team are compliant through related process and documentation


About you


We are seeking someone who is technically proficient and can demonstrate:


  • Strong numerical and data analytics capability 

  • A working knowledge of Australian and International Accounting Standards

  • Proven financial planning, statement analysis and reporting ability

  • Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce, Business and are qualified CA/CPA or working toward qualifications

  • Operational improvement experience

  • Experience in Financial Services sector desirable

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines in a fast paced environment
